How do you play on controller? Pad, Analog Stick, or both?

I play DoA on pad, though at SJ6 I used Gill's DoA3 stick and ended up adapting relatively quickly. Everything else I play on stick so we'll see.
To those asking about black bat tops, I get mine from FocusAttack.com. Used to be Lizard Lick but...they got shady.

Even though I have a nice arcade stick, I play on pad. This might change come Doa 5 though. Damn being held on PS3! The movement part is what feels kinda akward. Stick does give you some unique movement options though. It took me like a solid 2 weeks to be able to back dash cancel in Tekken on 2p side. At least with Doa you can choose to use Kbd or Bdc. Both being pretty easy.

I play pad. It's weird, I grew up playing on stick, and played TONS of Tekken 3 on stick (There was a cabinet at a convenience store on my way to the middle school I went to, and I could swear I played it almost every day), but now it's just so... foreign. I tried to play DOA 5 at HIN on stick and got smothered like nobodies business.

Pretty much the same thing for me. Pad, it is for me.
My slow escaping was better than it ever was on a stick though. Playing on stick though was just weird. It was like I forgot how to play DOA when I was on it.

Pad out of neccesaty. I have no way to get a stick, nor am I certain it would benefit me.

I have been playing DOA with an arcade stick and It is so MUCH BETTER than using both the D-pad and the analog stick. It feels and plays better. For me, Arcade stick is the way forward!!!

Because the OP was asking about the analogue stick and if people switched between the pad and the analogue stick for certain inputs and I just found it funny that several people didn't even read what the OP said and assumed he was talking about arcade sticks =P

In which case, my answer would be I never move from the pad. Don't like analog stick on controllers for FG's. Nothing I can't do on pad, that I can't do even worse on stick.

I prefer the pad for DOA and MK. I use the stick for Tekken, SF, KOF and VF. Although I can use the pad for KOF and Tekken, too.

I say that stick is better for input but that might be just me.Using either hasn't really messed me up and both could really have its own use , depending on what character that you use that makes stick or pad superior for different situations.
But really you should just try both and stick what is most comfortable to you.
