OH MY GOD! HE HAS RETURNED! GILGAAAAAMESHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! @Awesmic @Tyaren @XZero264 @Nikotsumi @Jadeinchains - More info on first DLC on Episode Gladiolus and the return of the swordsman from the rift!

https://gamerant.com/final-fantasy-15-first-dlc-details/

Fans knew that Final Fantasy 15 was getting DLC eventually, but the details have been scarce – until now, as a Square Enix release unveils the return of an iconic villain.

Final Fantasy 15 might be one of the best in a franchise that has seen some of the RPG genre’s greatest, but it is also a game that suffers a somewhat scattershot narrative and gameplay experience thanks to its decade in development. The fact that Final Fantasy 15 is getting a patch to fix its story speaks volumes about a game that inevitably must have been rushed to the finish line after its most recent delay.

Final Fantasy 15‘s DLC plans extend well beyond fixing the main game’s few shortcomings, however, and details regarding a concrete DLC plan have been scarce at best. That has changed now, though, as VG 24/7 reports that Square Enix released a special edition book that was handed out to fans for the holidays which details the first paid DLC pack – Episode Gladiolus, as well as quotes from Final Fantasy 15 DLC producer Haruyoshi Sawatari:

“In Episode Gladio, you’re able to go into areas that cannot be entered in the main game…[the DLC will] bring the FF15 world closer to the player, in greater depth.”
So Final Fantasy 15‘s first DLC pack will inevitably place players in the shoes of Gladiolus, the game’s greatsword-swinging strong man, and offer new areas for players to explore that weren’t available over the course of Final Fantasy 15‘s core content. There is a moment in the main game where Gladiolus leaves the party temporarily to take care of business he never quite explains, coming back with a massive scar across his chest – it’s likely that Episode Gladiolus will explore what happened and how that scar was earned. Perhaps the biggest news, however, stems from another Sawatari quote about the return of an iconic villain:

“The player confronts an enemy called Gilgamesh, who can only be seen in Episode Gladio.”

Final Fantasy 15 already features a memorable cast of heroes and villains, but the addition of Gilgamesh is a big deal for long-time fans of the series, who have come to expect the villain to crop up in every title in some form or another. Gilgamesh is most often portrayed as a bumbling sword-collecting thief who can occasionally wield great power, and he has appeared in at least ten different Final Fantasy games and spin-offs so far. Gilgamesh has taken on many forms over the years, and it will be interesting to see how he is portrayed in a game as beautiful as Final Fantasy 15.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Please please please let it be the same legendary Gilgamesh with all blades of legends and comic relief+4th wall breaking badass of untapped fighting potential!

Has anyone seen while exploring found roads that lead to dead ends? I've heard that possible dlc in the future might have new regions so maybe when that dlc releases those roads will lead somewhere?

Also has everyone got the seasons pass yet for when the dlc starts coming out? I haven't yet but I will soon.

Omg lol! XD @DestructionBomb was good timing! Yeah I'd heard that Gilgamesh might be in the episode of Gladios. It will be exciting to fight him. I'm happy its official now.

I want to cry but I can't! - I'm too mortal for this!

Seriously how in the world will Gladios beat this guy? there's no way he'll win by himself unless Gilgamesh gets nerfed a ton or please tell me I have my party when I do this episode.

It is only fitting that the toughest ninja turtle squares off against the finest warrior in Dimension X.

This is gonna be a match to remember!

It's great news, that there will be some epic new bosses and hopefully regions in the game.
As far as I know, the episodes are all solo episodes though. Gladio only got back to the party after he defeated him. ;)

I can't believe no one answered my post about their favorite tracks in the game. >__>

Well, I forgot one anyway. When I came across it I got goosebumps all over my body. It was that memorable old theme, just more beautiful than ever...and very very foreboding...

Fitting for FFXV to have it's crystal theme something beautiful yet dark.

By the way. Did they include this song in FFXV yet?

Nope.

I'll put the following tracks in spoiler....
(EPIC)

Edit : Forgot about Valse di Fantastica and Somnus, those are really awesome too
Double Edit : I can't believe I also forgot about this.

The surefire way he'll lose is if his companion Enkidu fucks things up... as usual.

But at the same time, this is Raphael we're talkin' about. He's a persistent sumbitch. He has the element of unpredictability and sheer anger on his side.

Ah sorry there @Tyaren bud, was too enveloped in my own silly hype.

My favorite track is this one. I like the pick up it starts from 0:22 and then the whole thing kicks up epicly into my ears.

I also like the menu theme when you are digging into your Ascension and overall inventory.

Good taste there! :) Yes, these are great as well.
The OST in general is one of the best in a video game ever...I think it wasn't implemented that well into the game however. The full glory of it all you only realize outside the game. It's weird...but typical for this game. XD
Some reviews called the soundtrack actually "unremarkable" for that reason.

Cape Caem is one of the most beautiful places in any open world game that I know. It's so dreamy and lush and well crafted:

By the way, that valley/canyon with the many arches in the background of the last image is very likely the place where Gladio's DLC episode will take place. @DestructionBomb @Jadeinchains
He left the party around that spot and here you can see the brittle stone arches deep in the canyon in the DLC concept art:

Might that big dude be Gilgamesh?

Wait, that's not Gilgamesh. That can't be him is it? hm.....eh....he was more samurai in design and had this comical appearances. He even had a personality.

This is what Gilgamesh looked like:

Hopefully not, it looks like an armored Iron Giant xD

This. So much this. I would be utterly disappointed if they just up an took the base models of Iron Giants and just put the name Gilgamesh there. That is just plain stupid.

Gilgamesh had personality and was so cool.

And no swords... That guy is probabaly not agile enough to weild so many...

Would it be bad if he wasn't comical in FFXV? I don't think he will be that comical in FFXV's gritty and realistic art style.

Well, not really. I mean he drew a lot of fans because of that. The other reason was that he's really strong and he use to bring these incredible dialogues whenever he joins a game.

My only worry is that I hope they keep Gilgamesh's personality and actually communicate with the characters and players. That picture just leaves me in heavy suspense of whether they'll just bring another Iron Giant with clad armor named Gilgamesh that will probably not say anything at all. He doesn't have to be funny or comical in FFXV of course, but he really did have a personality which is what people enjoyed about him.

In FFV, he sacrificed himself for the party so that they can beat Necrophobe. He was epic.
