Complete Italian DOA6 Elimination Round Tournament

Dead or Alive 6 is starting to see some more activity in its competitive scene again and Italian players are looking to get in the action being showcased and highlighted for their efforts. There are some real talented players that are missing from this Italian tournament, but there are a wide range of advanced players and rookies at this event despite a total lack of pre-promotion in the most obvious shareable places. This tournament is unorthodox and follows its own set of rules, but please enjoy and support these DOA players in this ongoing event by MasterNINJARyu who has been seen by some as the "Italian reference point" to Team NINJA's mainstay games.

Elimination Round D definitely plays out like a rookie cup as most of these players are relatively new to the game and don't have any (or very little) offline experience. Akumasama and C-18 Chan were definitely among some of the standouts. C-18 Chan seemed to have some solid fundamentals down for Hitomi and had good decision-making skills. This is an online tournament, and I didn't see a lot of latency in my viewing, so they seem to have the connections down. Akumasama lead Elimination Round D with the most points.

Elimination Round B possessed some more player experience and Mangacristian (Raidou, Leifang) vs. SolidSnakeiT (Jann Lee) was probably the best set on the card. It's easy to root for the guy that plays the heavy character because they seem to have so much stacked against them, and you want to see them both clutch it with the heavy as the winner, but then the faster fighter adapts and sneaks in the win. This is exactly what happened here with Mangacristian pulling off a clutch victory with several offensive holds in a final round affair only to lose the last round of the set emphatically after a character switch to Leifang. SolidSnakeiT managed to lead Round B by a single point!

After watching this VOD I wondered how I jumped from Round D to Round B while watching Round C (Zypeer leads this round), so I contacted MasterNINJARyu to get confirmation on what was going on with the progress of this event and when it was scheduled to end:

Not sure because when it will end since I'm trying to give the chance to all the people to have their perfect time, so I'm just counting on their availability, in order to choose the days of the matches where all the people of the Round are available to play, so it will take days for sure waiting to find the proper days for this purpose... for example now we have to wait till 6th of May in order to have the people of the last Round of Elimination to be free and available to play.

This is the best I can do to give the chance to people that are Italian lover of DOA, the people of the Italian DOA community have the chance to join and have fun with this tournament, I do my best to try to keep DOA Alive in the Italian Community.

So, as you can probably tell from reading that, the Italian community needs support from every player out there. Just being a spectator will help out these players and it counts towards something. Let's give encouragement, support and praise to all of the different players of Dead or Alive no matter where they may live. May 6th could be the next date for this event, so let's try and be there to root these fighters on!

Elimination Round A was recorded live on the 8th of May; just two days later from when it was expected to air by the organizers. Round A had some of the best competitive matches we've seen this year, at least in the online environment that is. There was a Bass mirror between Sasuke and DOASama and it was back and forth throughout.

They were power-bombing each other all over the map - and between these two competitors it was SGaraGarru that was the difference maker. He switched between several characters including Diego with fast damaging combos and Mai... with fast damaging combos. DOASama did everything he could at the end of this elimination round to take top points. He switched from Bass to Jann Lee and it proved to be a great switch presenting powerful combos of his own, but Gara was determined to win and he took this set decisively by the end.

Update: You can now watch the entire elimination tournament at this conveniently compiled playlist from Master Ninja Ryu!

Thank you so much for the shoutout.
It's not a big deal, really.
We just wanted to do something for our community at least once a year.
We are players with many different backgrounds, from beginners to semipros, but all that matters is just that everyone gets the chance to play.
Organization can be hell sometimes. You can tell we are not really expertes here, but it's a tradition at this point.
I hope we won't disappoint anyone who's going to give us a chance and tune in for the next few days :thumbs up:

It's never disappointing to see Dead or Alive being played by people with a competitive mind-set. Since you have people that are willing to fight that's half the battle. Should probably look into making a weekly thing out of it. Hoodless has done so and I can tell he's learned a lot over the past 90 consecutive weeks of doing it (and his fighters have learned a lot as well).

Good luck with your scene. We will help out anyway we can. The fighters (and showcasing their skills) are a big deal to FSD no matter what the level of skill may be.

Thanks for the tip :thumbs up:
We will consider the idea of making it a more recurring thing throughout the year.
In the past, especially during the support of DOA5, our community was a lot more active. We were younger and used to get together basically every night.

Nowadays, with our jobs, difficulty in gathering everyone together at the same time, offering prizes and everything else, we consider ourselves pretty lucky already for being able of making it a yearly event o_O
Me myself I couldn't find the time to join, and couple of our best players had to pass this one
We also wanted to make a DOA5 side-event, which is still up in the air.

Anyway, we will do our best to bring justice to this community :thumbs up:
