Holds Buffered Off Of A Hit

I've been playing since the game got released midnight 2 days ago. Right off the bat, I noticed something, when ever I got for a hold and fail, it comes out even still right after the move connects with me, putting me in a position that could result in a successful hold or a counter damage for the opponent.

I don't mash the hold button because I know that it won't help if It's not timed correctly that's out the question. But is anyone else facing this problem? Has it always been in DOA?

It has always been in DOA. If it registers you want to do a hold but you are in critical state and can't hold at the moment then it will hold the first moment it can.

yup yup its just something u have to get use too; i remember when it happened to me at first i was just like o wtf. but u get used to when ur allowed to hold again and then u can press it if u still want to do it, its not too bad.

I just find it weird cause now it comes out so so far behind me pressing it, and like I said I don't mash the hold... so Idk, maybe it's cause the stuns a bit more prominent in this game.

yea think of it has like if u blocked a hit; now ur in block stun; but u cant cancel block stun with a counter, so instead it takes into consideration that u wanted to counter, but u are not able to right now so it will due it at the next available time. Its best to try and counter at the very latest u can anyways though; u get a damage buff if its between frames 1-6 or so of the counter

Hi Counter is nice and all, but the windows for regular countering is still small anyway. I'll try though.
 
Is the buffer just for holds or is across all moves? I know SC's buffer for moves is quite large; especially compared to tekken.

i think the total time a counter lasts is like 26 frames or so; which is about half a second. That actually seems long to me personally xD

yea SC is 20 frames. Idk how many tekken has. The point though is I didn't understand why they were coming out so late after being stunned. I pressed the combination once so the amount of delay on it feels ridic but if that's how it's suppose to be, oh well.

yea tbh i dont really like that it works like that it either, but atleast its possible to work around it.
