Limited Edition Ninja Gaiden 3 Will Include DOA5 Demo

Nice, two games I play are getting Demos. DoA 5 in March and MBAACC 1.07 once they fix the code.

What would be nice is if they would push an update patch via the PS3 system. But I doubt it would happen.

Um... not sure but ya might want to update the info. According to Joystiq the demo's are amazon and gamestop exclusive. Amazon gets Hayate and Ayane while gamestop gets Ryu and Hitomi. The collector's edition of NG3 still has all 4 characters.

Doesn't surprise me.

Crap, I'd get the Collector's Edition off of Amazon in a heart beat if it was an option but I'm not so keen on walking into a Gamestop...

I understand what Dr. Dogg is trying to say and it's that we not harrass Team Ninja with "This sucks, this sucks, you suck, etc." That's not the intent with getting good people to play the game early, it's to get relevent impressions so that the final game doesn't suck.

That's not what I'm trying to say. I'm saying that the build of the game will be very, very early. Glaring issues will probably already be corrected, and nitpicky things that the competitive players would complain about would be very much out of context given the date of the build.

Most of the competitive players will talk about the stun game, counter frames, etc. All of those are things that don't really get adjusted until much later in the development cycle. There will be other chances to play this game before it's released. I can almost guarantee that. This demo should not be the focus of competitive "play testing".

It should be right now, since it's the current version of the game, but unfortunately we have to wait three months to get our hands on it. That's the issue.

Damn I have both systems now, my heart is with the Xbox but I wonder if the PS3 version of NG will be the better version?

Any thoughts?

But right now the game is at 15%. You notice how we've only seen one level and four characters? That's probably because that's all they've completed, and even those four characters probably aren't at a state anywhere close to final. If/when adjustments are made based on the advice of competitive players, it will be far later in the development cycle.

At this point, you'd basically be telling them what you want chanced from DOA4... and we've already done that.

I remember at E3 2005 Itagaki said DOA4 was at 15%, then half a year later the game was out. Granted DOA5 is a much bigger step forward than DOA4 was, but they also have a bigger studio now and plenty of experience with the consoles. On top of that fighting games have relatively short development cycles in general. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if DOA5 released Fall 2012.

As for Team Ninja taking input, eh... I don't know about that. PR people love talking about how they care about what the community thinks and how they're always taking input. I especially love it when a beta gets released, many people complain about certain things, and nothing changes in the final build :p

SC5 was announced during the summer and, it was only 10% complete. To be honest i'm surprised with the release date they have set. I though it wouldn't be released until near summer 2012. That being said, I really don't expect TN taking long to complete DOA5 but, at the same time I won't be surprised if it gets a early 2013 release push back.

I thought I read somewhere that the devs were being rushed into releasing the game by their higher ups. Hopefully that's not the case with DOA5 since it needs a lot of work...

I asked Daishi on twitter everyday a few months ago not to rush the game because I did not want another SCIV. He told me that he had deadlines and that he would try his best to make the game he wanted to make before the deadline.

I don't think the release date of the game is in question. We're talking about how effective it would be to provide input on a 15% build, that's roughly a year away from release.

DOA4 changed significantly during the last 2 months of development, and it's widely known that fighting game characters aren't fine-tuned until the final stage of development.

And there is the fine truth of the gaming industry in black and white.
Yep, it sucks but thats business. On the bright side, if the game does well it could potentially get fixes through online upates. Or they could just pull a capcom...lol I hate what capcom has been doing with SF but oh well.
