Team Ninja wants ideas for next patch!

I thought the follow-ups were unholdable as long as you timed it right (i.e. when "Combo Throw" appears).

To my knowledge they aren't unholdable. I'll test it when I get home, but I'm pretty sure that you can hold immediately after the command throw. I've definitely been held out of it a lot lol.

A few game play changes and a couple few character changes.

Remove stun on wake up kicks or reduce the stun > Make it so when wake up kicks land they cause a neutral reset instead of completely reversing the momentum of the match.
Extend how many letters can be used in chat > Why can't we use a full row instead of being limited to half a row? I hate having to stop one word short for no reason.
Lobbies Keep Freezing: Why is it if someone leaves, pets their cat or breaks wind the entire lobby just freezes up? Never had this happen to me pre patch.
Bring back 2vs2 online tag > There was no reason to take it out, it's just missing for the sake of being missing. Add it back asap.
Improve the netcode > It is still miles behind what it should be. I want to be able to play internationally like I do on other fighters without this horrific lag. It is possible cause of other fighters do it just fine.
Port old stages from DOA4 > They wouldn't even need a graphical overhaul. There's no diversity in these stages just wall or no wall.
Buff Helena's ponytail > Why does Kasumi's look like a real one with fly away hairs flowing from it and Helena's consists of one long blob? Her hair looked better in DOA4 and that's just sad.
Bring back old appearances as costume DLC > I'd love to be able to play as DOA4 Helena in DOA5. It would be pretty unique for a fighting game and I don't think it would be too hard to do.
Character buffs:
Helena > 3in1's +2 on block and everything else left really unsafe, or 3in1's 0 on block and DOA4 safe moves returned. Make 3P decent, it's currently a 12 frame punch that gets crushed by everything. If she is a mid heavy character give her a better mid poke. Lower the hit box so it can't be crushed so easily.
Lisa > Enter run stance faster for better mix up, and give her an 11 frame jab.

4. Helena needs some buffs in her frame data and properties. She needs safer attacks (Hand slaps should be 0 on block or +1). She needs some special stuns (Sit downs). Guard breaks that are quicker and dont require that long ass charge. A faster jab. Bokuho duck recovery should be shorter.
This, please.

How long will Team Ninja be accepting ideas? I mean, is the patch in the works? Is there a date? Or are we going to have to wait a long time for this.

They updated their twitter account today regarding the patch, check it out.

Thanks!

I had a look and it said:

Also, we're continuing our work to improve the online experience. I'll share more once we have solid info.

and

Thanks for all the feedback! We've already implemented some of the suggestions, so I'm sure you'll like how things turn out.

Yeah, but it also said:

For example, someone wants to be able to hold more during Critical, but someone else wants more unholdable moves.

Who wants the former? The Japanese players? I fear for the outcome of this patch.

Why are people saying "don't add buffs/nerfs" and then instantly request a change to their character

There should be absolutely ZERO changes to characters for at least a few months. STOP TALKING ABOUT BUFFS/NERFS, IT'S TOO EARLY AAUUUGHHH

Yeah. I'd be done with the game too if they start screwing up. Eff that.

Those are the people that are why games end up being screwed up. Hopefully TN will be smart and not listen to the nerf/buff bs.

Buffs are always a good thing and there are some characters that need to be buffed badly. Only time I'd ever support a nerf is if the character literally broke the rules of the game.

No character needs to be buff right now. No one know where any of the characters even stand to determind this. Like said before there shouldn't be any buff for another few months. I agree with you on the nerf bit.

But after some months that should have been time for more offline competition with good players. Only then should buffs and such be determined.

There is not a single character in the game that warrants a nerf, yep Jann Lee's Dragon gunner being a OH is silly, deal with it. On the other hand there are characters in need of buffs but we should wait until later down the road before we start changing the game's balance.

How could you possibly know that? The game has only been out for a month.

Look DoA community, early balance patches are bad news. Do any of you know what happened to MK9? It had 5 patches in 5 months, and guess what: that game still suffers from awful character balance.

I beg of you, let this game evolve a bit more before we start talking balance patches. I'm getting destroyed online from maining Zack (I'm only a D), but I'm determined to learn the match up and work on my spacing first before I start crying for buffs.

Please please please stop asking Team Ninja for buffs/nerfs. Even if you're a DoA vet and know the mechanics in and out, a month still isn't long enough to make such judgements considering how different this game is from the past. Take your time, learn your match ups, and in a few more months can start talking balance changes.

DoA isn't exactly all that complex. It only took me 20 minutes in training to figure out that Hitomi is pure trash.
