I'm not sure if anyone else caught on, but it seems that there's two models to each character. The one you see in the fight intro, power blow and victory. The second model is the one you actually play.

You're imagining things.

Not saying this is impossible but considering the game zooms in and out to incredible detail during powerblows it is more likely what you are seeing is a form of LOD rendering.

Yep, different set of images from the trailer, lol, I figured that out when I seen Kasumi hit Akira with her Powerblow. This "could" be a Tag with Ayane & Kasumi vs Akira and someone else, or it could just be a continuation of that last trailer with Kasumi guessing "correct" after hanging from the ledge.

the last pic is from 1:30 in the trailer but diff angle. Its the second juggle Kasumi does that ends with a teleport hit. The flower and water splashes are all there. Just a replay. Seems they brought back the replay photo shoot with free moving camera.

Kasumi's power blow doesn't hit like that. Go re-watch the trailer when she uses it on Ayane. She flips backwards and teleports hitting Ayane in the head then does a power attack sending Ayane flying across the stage. Nowhere does she make Ayane flip like that with the Akira screenshot. The screen cap with Akira being hit like that was when Kasumi was juggling him (forgive me I don't know the input) where she does her 2 jabs then the flip kick which now has the added animation where she teleports in the air after her flip kick and goes flying forward to hit Akira.

Like Tenren said with the image he posted, the screen shots are just taken from different angles, but they are all from the trailer with the exception of the second one which may be taken from the trailer we are supposedly getting this week which may be announcing the tag feature.

I don't think that second pic is from tag. Ayane has a ton of moves where she's back-turned and I'm pretty sure that's what's going on.

There are lots of tools available during the development process that allow for shots like this. It doesn't mean they will be available to the player when the game ships.

true but even the screen shoot you could take in DOA4 were still pretty good I had some really nice one that should a lot of detail but lost them when the xbox broke. Ive learned to put music and game screen shoots on flash drives since lol.

I suppose so. But the models just look completely different. I can even see it with Akira. But when the power blow zooms in, the jagged edges become less and more detail arises. Such strange detail changing abilities I've never seen before.

That's LOD (level of detail) rendering.

Different camera distances procure a different image. The farther away, the less detailed. Most high quality graphical MMORPG's use this so they can manage 300 unique people onscreen at once without making the game explode.

These new game models are super high quality though, and these interactive stages are going to be taking its toll on the consoles. To maintain 60 fps it's easy to see why they chose to use a form of LOD.
