WHAT! TN fucked something up in a patch that was supposed to fix their previous fuck ups? im shocked and amazed. wonder if those "mistranslated" changes from their patch notes that aren't in this broken patch will be implemented into this fixed patch

There were effectively mistranslations, an user that knows the Japanse had reported an example in the forum.

im sure there were, im more referring to eliots P+K debacle where me and rikutos friendly debate originated from. the patch notes made sure to point out p+k sitdown working on standing and crouching opponents in two separate bullet points, can't really mistranslate that; just throwing out the possibility it could've actually been intended to be in all along but wasn't implemented in this borked patch

Well Eliot does kind of look like a girl so yeah I suppose. Bisexuals must be all over him, best of both worlds.

For the record I'm straight. Doesn't mean I can't agree with Mailifang there :U

But yeah, doesn't matter to me whether he's nerfed, buffed, or completely unchanged. I'm still using Eliot as my sub simply because he's awesome as a character.

Ugh. What the Fuckleberry Hound? God damnit, now we have to wait another month for the patch, new stage and costumes? They could at least still give us the costumes. Hell, give us a limited discount on them, or even make them free for a time because of the fuck up or something.

Online is unquestionably better (hard to believe they only eliminated 1 frame of lag), AI uses purchased costumes in all modes and courses are unlocked which makes survival legend a fun little defensive training diversion, rather than the horrible grind it was before. Beach stage is beautiful.... I'm shocked at how much better the game plays, more than I would have expected from the notes. That being said it's almost funny (but actually sad) to see how many ranked matches are declined before you get to play. Only hope is that with the better netcode and unlocks connected to ranked the player base grows enough to offset picky players.
I'm impressed with the patch. My deepest sympathies to Xbox players who have to wait.

How does eliminating 1 frame of lag help the general online play? I mean if the netcode sucks then it sucks right?

I'd love the netcode to be better but they patched it before and it is was still pretty shit afterwards.

They also mentioned they fixed lag problems with certain stages. And isn't that 1 frame fix part of the netcode? :)

As an xbox player, i'm not exactly jealous of ps3 getting the patch, for two reasons.

1) I also have a ps3, lol. So in a worst case scenario I could just pick up DOA5 for ps3 as well.

2) PS3 usually gets shafted with this kinda thing, so I say let em enjoy getting something first, for a change.

Barring actual content like moves, costumes, characters and stages being added or removed, patches are usually negligible in that its often just minor tweaks to the results of moves without changing moves themselves, so all it usually amounts to is 5 minutes of adjusting, then moving on. I'm betting this patch isn't really any different (again, barring the actual content being added), at least by just looking at the patch notes.

I don't THINK any content is being REMOVED, though correct me if I'm wrong.

I don't like the patch and will no longer be playing the game.

Not because my character was nerfed to low tier (I still have Rig), but because a lot of the buffs and nerfs seem illogical to me. Why nerf Mila and Alpha but buff the VF characters, leave Leifang and Jann Lee ridiculous and buff the ninjas?

It seems as though Team Ninja listened to a bunch of online scrubs who complained about everything they were too lazy to find a way around. Helena was never broken, but because of this patch, she's now unplayable. Mila wasn't even considered top tier by most people, yet now she's one of the worst characters in the game. Alpha wasn't all that great, had a huge weakness and was only dominant online. Now she's even weaker than she already was.

Not a single character should've been nerfed and I've been telling Team Ninja this since E3. I'll still support the scene, but I'm done playing this game competitively.
