Beware The Flood of Video Uploads

So um, at least right now, the quality of media uploads on this site are pretty good in terms of talent. Once uploading to youtube and facebook is allowed, I think it might be wise to put a rating system on FSD. A 1-5 scale. This way, viewers know ahead of time if it's worth the watch or not. If that isn't possible, maybe break the media section down to have a link for each character.

I'm sure you've already thought of these things, but if not, you're welcome.

I have put thought into this and realized the over-saturation of videos would grow stale quickly. Looks like I'll have to break out the old dirty Sony Vegas and work my video editing magic like I used to do back in my weird MUGEN video days. I'm too boring to watch, so why not sprinkle some glitter on my uploads? :V

The media section on FSD is fine, if anything, a tutorial link will be added to the list. You can also like videos which is an indicator of something being good about it.

I never link mine, I just leave them to lie dead and unseen on my youtube so you'll be safe from me at least! (Other than this snippet below)

I do hand out links to people involved when I record and let them decide what to do with them though. I wouldn't worry too much about over saturation though since Microsoft and Google seem to be in some form of tiff and the PS3 doesn't get as much attention (the only one with YouTube uploads).

The one thing I would worry about is quality loss of the video (360p). Kind of glad I'll be one of the only ones doing HD still. Recording services are available if I have nothing else to do. Can also stream (as long as I am not playing, FU upload speed) so if you do want some HD stuff let me know via the forums, quality previews below.

Quality:
PS3 - 720p (Desktop Recorded - HDMI into Capture Card)

XBox 360 - 1080p (Captured from the Card via Component HD AV Cable)

What will the uploaded quality be like? I hate that Xbox is only getting facebook upload... but will it be through Youtube? Guessing not. Probably just be 360p.

I had some amazing replays for everybody to see but unfortunately people would probably slap themselves from boredom since Im only fighting against the A.I. :(

My friend uploads replays of our matches in SF3:TS Online Edition, and they're locked on a solid 360p. I have no doubts DoA5's uploads will work in a similar fashion.

Yep. Members are posting some in the patch thread and they are 360p.

I know that I'll be making a dummy facebook account to specifically upload these videos to. I'm not going to spam my RL friends with a hail of DOA5 videos. Plus, the dummy account will only hold my replays, soooooo, you'll have more of a library to view from.

This 'flood' can't be any worse than the thousands of ryona videos on youtube.

funny you say that. i was looking for replay videos the other day and that came up. i had no idea what it meant. clicked on it and...

or you could just make an akira video thread in the akira character thread...

or utilize the Akira keyword in the media manager.
