How EXACTLY do I unlock Alpha?

I've searched around a bit, but I can't seem to get a straight answer. Everywhere I look seems to have a different solution. 300 titles, 1,000 matches online, etc. I just want to know for sure what the criteria is for unlocking her so I'm not wasting my time. Can anyone help me out here? Thanks.

You have to get 300 titels to unlock her. But in the 1.03 patch they made it possible to unlock her by fighting 300 ranked matches. So if you are on PS3 and you have downloadend the patch you can unlock her by either earning 300 titles or fighting 300 ranked matches. Since the update is not yet available for the XBOX360 you can only unlock her by earning 300 titles if you are on xbox360.

Do all the Story mode ones, then I suggest doing all that can be done in versus mode (against a human "dummy"), for example all the cliffhanger strikes and grabs, and powerblows for different characters. Then you could get all the character costumes by completing arcades, time attacks and so on with different characters. Just browse through the requirements and think of the easiest and fastest ways to meet them.

That's a LOT easier than getting the titles. Only one question though. Do I have to win those matches, or just fight them?

Getting 300 titles is easy, just takes awhile. Just plug in a second controller and do all the critical bursts + power blow with each character. Do all the cliffhanger throws/attacks on a cliffhanger stage etc... It takes awhile, but not as long as it would to do 300 ranked matches. Just look through the titles page and see which ones you can do with two controllers.

Playing 300 ranked matches is probably more fruitful than just grinding against a dummy player 2 because you're getting actual experience in. You'll start hating the game at around match 100 though.

Yes, it is easier just playing 300 ranked matches. However, if you need to farm for titles:

Complete each of the missions in story mode, doing this should get you 78 at the least, 100 I believe if you haven't done any other modes yet.
Going through command training with a character unlocks another title so that's 23 (101)
Performing a character's Attack Cliffhanger is another title: 23 (124)
Performing a character's Throw Cliffhanger: 23 (147)
Performing a character's Power Blow: 23 (170)
Performing a character's Power Blow after connecting with a Critical Burst: 23 (193)
Completing all difficulties in Arcade (Solo) awards you a title: 9 (202)
Completing all difficulties in Arcade (Tag) awards you a title: 9 (211)
Completing all difficulties in Time Attack (Solo) awards you a title: 9 (220)
Completing all difficulties in Time Attack (Tag) awards you a title: 9 (229)
Completing all difficulties in Survival awards you a title: 9 (238)
Unlocking all outfits of each character: 23 (262)

From there you have some frivoulous ones you can do such as taunting 10 times total, using a character 1, 10, 50, 100 times, etc. You can use that to buff up the remaining 40 titles.

After the patch comes out on 360 you can unlock her after 300 ranked matches. I'm not sure if you will need to play an additional 300 though if you already have 300+. So if unlocking titles isn't up your alley you will at least have another option. That being said, getting the 300 titles probably took only 10 of the 400 hours I've put in to my copy of DOA5.

Can confirm from PS3 side that if you have 300+ already, play 1 game and it will unlock.
This is the same for character costumes too. Played 100 already? 1 ranked match on that character, get the costumes if you don't already.
