FYI I don’t like to usually mention this, but I’m not a “he,” I’m a woman who feels constantly alienated in these games and communities.
So yeah, I’m fed up with putting energy into this, and being optimistic, and I’m hardly alone. The reasons DOA won’t ever succeed as a mainstream or esport...
Gonna check out of this place. Pretty much all my enthusiasm for DOA6 has been strangled, and I’m not going to buy it. There are lots of other games to play out there. See ya later
I know the ball’s in my court, and I’m leaving. I don’t have to give anyone my business, much less do their press for them. I’m just explaining why.
By the way, the “Japanese vs American values” escape is bullshit for two reasons. 1) you’re selling the game in America too, and DOA has always...
Eh, I’m not being paid to do PR for a game with a very questionable direction.
And even if I was, what do you say to attract new people who think DOA’s a soft core porn game? “Ignore the fact that they hired soft core porn actors to promote the game and spent their time zooming in on genitals...
What Wizard did was undeniably stupid and cartoonishly hypocritical, but the backlash against him is still rooted in “mah censorship” rather than any genuine interest in a fighting game.
I just don’t see this as generating any real good will that would lead to new people playing DOA6. It’s the...
If the most attention DOA6 has really gotten is because its stream was cut for them making a rape joke and having adult entertainers smack each other’s boobs, then the game is doomed.
Can they just bring back Virtua Fighter so I can play something with people without being embarassed or having to defend the business decisions of 50-year-old perverts
The thing is, though, DOA6 *is* toned down compared to 5. Women’s boobs don’t ricochet around like they did in Last Round, and costumes are much less stupid and strippery. Also they got rid of the soft core porn vision videos of each woman wiggling around in a beach.
What makes this pathetic...
That move's not sexually suggestive in itself, it's a pretty standard wrestling move. It's them specifically angling the camera to make a sexual assault joke that I have a problem with, and as far as I know they've never done that. The "sexuality" of DOA has always just been bouncing boobs and...
Additionally making the Nyo/Bass “joke” isn’t just another “lol boobs” situation, they’re making a joke about sexual assault, something DOA as a fighting game has never done before. It’s way worse than the usual fare.
I want to get people to actually play the game, though, and it’s hard enough as it is. It’s just that the direction the tone went with DOA5-LR with this crap made it basically impossible to get new people to try out the game. I’m done making excuses for it.
