Toning down =/= remove something. The word itself already tells you it’s nothing but minimizing the ridiculous levels DOA5 reached with its DLCs. I’m not Einstein and I got from day 1 that the fanservice wasn’t going anywhere but just being reduced to the way it was before and not turning the game into literal nude 3D models with some diamonds stuck in the girls’ pussies and nipples lol, idk what went wrong with y’all people who literally flooded websites like gamefaqs or r/DeadOrAlive saying the game was dead cuz the fanservice was cut outta the game just after seeing (1) fricking trailer.

I'm telling you right now man, I never believed that the DLC is getting toned down. I get annoyed that he is either lying or doesn't know what he's talking about. I also get extra annoyed seeing people praise him for "maturing" or whatever lmao especially knowing he's full of shit.

I'm willing to bet anyone $500 right now the DLC will be just as sexualized as DOA5. PM me if there are any serious takers.

The problem is when you and others take it from one extreme to the next instead of settling on a possible middle ground. You make it seem like if we don't get bikinis and OMG physics, then we get burqas and amish dresses...

What about the 4 other main entries in the series that managed to be a balance of both? 5 got yall WAY too comfortable with the fetish outfits, and now the producer actually sees an issue with it and wants to bring things back to the way they used to be. If you want a porn game, there's a new version of DOAX3 coming out, check that out and leave the fighting game be.

doa didn't officially portray itself using the sexual assault-like moves before, but there's a long running community that knows everything about that aspect of the series and regularly produces content around it. it's like you simply know tekken is the muscle buster central without it needing to spell it out

Exactly. I understand people are being very, very passionate about the game... but people seriously need to read the room and figure out what's going on.

The more you try and slam Shimbori, TN and KT for this, the more you are actually HURTING us because no one is actually focusing on it anymore.
Because most people in the FGC, Japanese or American, have shown THEY DON'T GIVE A FUCK!

Hell, me, Mr. Wah and DB even made a joke at the expense of what happened AND at Mr. Wizard and plenty of people are finding it funny.
This actually got DOA even more attention how shit it's treated if you actually bother to look around.
Is R/Kappa making fun of the event? No, they are roasting Mr. Wizard. Is people agreeing with Eventhubs on them taking it down? Nope, most of the comment section is calling out the hypocrisy with high likes.

Hell, you even had SnakeEyes make a damn tweet pointing out Zangief does the SAME THING with his powerbomb as the reason he wants to buy DOA6(whether as a joke or not, he does go further with the joke when someone replied to him.)

I think you missed the point. Most people didn't even really CARE for that, being primarily neutral and only believing it was dumb but it was also in Japan. Only a few here and there are actually with or against Wizard's decision.

What Wizard did was undeniably stupid and cartoonishly hypocritical, but the backlash against him is still rooted in “mah censorship” rather than any genuine interest in a fighting game.

I just don’t see this as generating any real good will that would lead to new people playing DOA6. It’s the cheapest kind of attention, and it’s always short lived.

The FGC is full of stupidity, moronic shit, people not taking baths, people fighting, attacking each other, playing games anywhere they can, posting explicit materials, etc.

This should be obvious about how very little of this is actually impacting DOA negatively. From me and someone else from the Discord, we only got 2 things that slightly mocked the DOA press conference. And even from those who agreed with Mr. Wizard, they heavily disagreed on how he handled it in the first place when it was nothing ultimately that serious.

It was a cringey presentation... but it was ultimately nothing to go into this huff about. If you honestly can't see it that way, that's honestly on you and to be fair, me and others was equally in your shoes as well. But you can say people are fighting about something else, but I still see Xanadu wanting to open a spot for DOA6 if people want to show up, I don't see JeBailey removing DOA6 from CEO, do you?

Going into this damn rut will not help you, won't help me, won't help FSD won't help the game at large. If you want to make a change, this is the perfect time to make change when people are bringing this up as how badly EVO treated DOA in it's own home country, trying to bring in American Values into the Japanese side. You don't cry and complain when something bad happens, you spin that shit and make it a positive, people have done that shit for centuries and don't you pretend we can't.

By the way, the “Japanese vs American values” escape is bullshit for two reasons. 1) you’re selling the game in America too, and DOA has always been bigger in America than Japan.
