All I can say is that from my few weeks being in Discords, I’ve learned tons of tech in DOA, Tekken, SC, and Smash. I’ve been a part of this forum for over a year and have gotten nothing useful at all. Discord is just way more efficient than forums, and particularly this one
Forums are too strict for people anymore I think. Discords allow things to be casual and flow. Also, replies are posted immediately like a chatroom. It's just easier and less effort for quicker return.
Forums feel like more work to make a topic, and more work to look through boards to find topics in case you want to answer them. Discord is just a big public discussion that keeps moving on, while important posts are pinned to be referred to easily.
I vastly prefer Discord. It's like a "stream of consciousness" thing. Questions can just keep going and flowing while more and more people contribute. Meanwhile on a forum, that's not possible because of how messy it would be. So instead you have to make a new forum post for every thing...
You're likely to only get Cassandra, since I don't think season 1 is finished yet. Also, Capcom doesn't need to "save" SFV. It's old and still doing fine. And the 3 characters are going over well so far.
Every new player I see tends to go towards Hitomi, Mila, or Tina first. Hitomi and Mila probably because they're more down-to-earth than most of the cast. That's one of the reasons I picked her.
Raidou's complex moves are the only interesting thing about that character. And they aren't really that hard if you practice, especially the electric, which I don't think is difficult at all
Same reason people keep whining and complaining about the sidestep attacks, or the break hold/blow: it’s a new game and people would rather complain than learn.
