DOA4 is legit one of the greatest online games I've ever played and will be my inspiration for my own projects in the future. What a legendary game director. RIP.
TY Sir! Hmm, I don't remember many of the differences when it comes to grappling in 4 and 5 and 6. I actually only played 6 for a short time. But I wouldn't be surprised if my stance was "lets just go back to 4".
I think the critical stun in DOA5 was good, and that's an example of the devs...
I meant to say MK did the "combo breaker" mumbo jumbo and then others started following suit. Or it could have been that garbage Killer Instinct game, it was one of the two.
And about Street Fighter 4, that's what I was getting at with the meter. The meter and flashy supers work well with the...
I believe break blows started to become mainstream with the release of MK9. That and the dumbass X-ray "power blow" they had going on. Other fighters like Street Fighter and Tekken began to go in that direction because the devs were under the misconception that they need to modernize the game...
DOA4 is literally the greatest online fighting game of all time. Insane to think it came out in 2005. They managed to make a fighting game feel like an online RPG/MMO. They invented the rotating Fortnite shop over a decade before Fortnite came out. Literally goated high IQ game devs.
All DOA needs is cross platform, a good online platform with the same innovation as DOA4. It would need to have an MMO lobby structure with daily/weekly tournaments that either count towards a rank of some kind, and/or special titles/emblems/costumes. Like damn dude. They need to stop making...
What blows my mind is that DOA4 had the most game modes and features in any online fighting game in history. Even SF4 didn't have more than 2 player lobbies for a few years. And when they finally added in "team fight" mode, it was completely pointless because the current match would reset and...
You see, even the new Guilty Gear has a lobby system like DOA online. Team Ninja needs to stop being low IQ and start inovating, hire Itagaki again. "Cover bands do not rule the world".
I think they just didn't have the balls to say it was the last patch. Why bother bringing up "online, store, etc will still remain available" when no duh they should remain available.
The graphics in the video are obviously outdated, but this is the way online modes for fighting games should be done in the year 2020. Not this outdated boomer dog shit text based lobby system from the original Xbox (20 years ago LUL).
Splitting up the community between Ranked and player...
