@ninjaguy446 You can still play high VF even if you played DOA. I think the problem is that both games are approached differently despite having some universal similarities aside from a throw break mechanic, stun system, and wallsplat mechanic.
Holdjunkie (VF community) who still pops up on FSD who played DOA and went to events with us for awhile. He was pretty solid too but he always staggered out of stuns and doesn't really hold as much in DOA because of the mechanic habit from transitioning from another game. (VF-DOA). I know a DOA player who does extremely well I hear in the VF Cali community.
Prime example (@VirtuaKazama can tell you this too I believe) is a DOA player in Japan named Mochi-A. He is a DOA player now, works for Team Ninja now, and he plays VF competitively extremely well. He was also in the Beat-Tribe cup recently as one of the team members they had and he's probably the best Sarah I played back at NEC hotel rooms for DOA.
Yeah, it's unfortunate he can't participate in DOA tournaments because he works for Koei now. Think the most you can get out of him is casual matches in rooms if he ever swings by. He's super chill in person and he bought me a drink, would like to return the favor on the drink.
