Because it results in a very small amount of guaranteed damage and in many cases, an unfavorable wakeup situation that can actually turn the entire match in the opponents favor.

Going for the string delay mindgame is slightly riskier but if it pays off, can result in the complete domination of the match.

Simply taking the throw damage isn't eliminating any guessing going on if the opponents lifebar is full. You'll be guessing again as soon as the throw is over, and if you guess wrong you're fucked.

You need to weigh if that damage is worth the momentum shift.

I understand that before wakeup kicks got nerfed yes. But I'm taking my guaranteed damage and backing up. And I can underatand If the health is full but most people never do it. Online ill take risks but in tourney play I'm taking anu damage I can get

Plus it can swing momentum in ur favor depending on how aggressive someone is. I made this post mainly because some people don't punish even when they'll win and I'm trying to figure out why. Ps I'm not a traitor lolol you had headphones on! Ha

because button mashers + online play = them getting away with mashing out of unsafe strings. Also character type throws like Hitomi's 5f throw puts you on the ground and her 7f throw is just a reset into another guess...I'll pass.

I will say that I hate that genfus 7f throw is a combo throw. Its annoying. But yeah I agree with the online thing but I still try to punish online so I can get in the habit of it offline. I just meant in tournament play. Like I can do 6pp w jan lee and get away with it all day long. People still try to throw 6pk since it was unsafe in 4 lol

What Koompbala said about the lower skilled player. And the fact that most players don't know what throw punishment is. Some probably just refuse to do it for some weird honor code, I guess.

Online = Due to lag, an opponent may attack out of disadvantage and still get a HiCounter strike when you try to throw punish something unsafe.
Offline = What Rikuto said.
Either = Lack of knowledge regarding move sets, frame data, and crouching/standing status of various moves.
