Not true. If you do a slow attack that causes sit-down while your opponent is stunned, but they stagger out and block it after you initiate the attack, you'll be at disadvantage.
Not always, most stuns gives you the oportunity to throw when they are Slow escaped. That's why you always should be open to free canceling. I 33T or 236236T when my hits gets slow escaped with Alpha.
Exactly. But it's still possible that you can be put in an unfavorable/trapped situation as a result, as I just described. Thus, there is SOME danger associated with it/when your opponent is doing it (unless you only use attacks while your opponent is in stun that are guaranteed even if they slow escape, but that seems silly). One CE invalidates a premise. One premise is false, conclusion falls apart. Logic.
If your stun chains are being slow escaped then your using the wrong stun chains. Maybe even the wrong stuns in general. Most characters have moves that stun so deep slow escape doesn't matter. Not every stun needs to link into a guaranteed critical burst.
There's 2 reasons I absolutely hate it: It makes no goddamn sense, and takes the guarantees out of guarantees. If I sit you down for a +26 advantage, you shouldn't be able to wiggle your way out of getting hit by my GUARANTEED launcher. This is probably the main reason I prefer Tag to Solo now.
You realize that stagger escaping is in most 3d fighters, right? You should be complaining about the hold, not the stagger. You still have guaranteed options from stagger in most cases.
Why not complain about everything that makes DOA unique instead of just playing fighters that don't have those things?
Oh wait, that's what everyone does here anyway. Derp.
Stagger Escape is such a regular thing in almost every 3D fighter you can pretty much just take it for granted. It's like blocking or punching with how regular its presence is.
So it just seems weird to me that someone would complain about something so basic taking away a very few guaranteed setups, as opposed to the primary thing that takes them away (the hold).
People also complain about the stun system/threshold, certain environmental factors, certain characters, resets, etc. It's a nearly limitless list.
You can still complain about things that are in most fighters. For example, I hate projectiles in any 2D or 3D fighting game. You can take them for granted, or you can complain about a mechanic you don't like. Not all that weird.
Kind of like how during the last DID after I got wrecked by Helena I went on stream and blasted the character. That was the first and last time I started any conversation attacking her as a character.
Yet, she continues to get brought up to this day, because Helena SUPPORTERS keep bringing up the argument. It's not like the blame lies entirely with the people who have issue with certain elements of the game.
I've seen you address the "problem child" as you so gracefully put it in text, here, on the forums, numerous other times.
And even if you didn't, the topics are being brought up, all the time, much like your "non-stop parade" analogy.
But that's not really even the point I as making. I guess we trailed way off topic. Sorry, Nightpup.
