Online is generally toxic for any competitive game. Offline? Not really. Most true DOA fans tend to be quite chill.

Online-wise? It's not too bad. The best "community" I've been part of (a.k.a the time I've spent playing a game) was Blazblue's, took me a good 4-6 months to get any sort of hate mail/message. The worst was definitely Mortal Kombat's, disconnects on top of shittalk and hatemail.
