Still, kind of sad that MultiVersus ended up the way it did, even if they'll bring it back later down the line, I don't think that it'll be able to reattract the people/players that it lost and it will lose. Well, at least this game became a shining example for the other companies and devs on how not to handle a F2P fighting game "post-release".

Funny thing is DOAXVV had 4 Million Players and 5 Years of Support which still on-going for content (Characters, Costumes, & Features) since 2017, while MultiVersus had over 20 Million Players and 1 Year of Support (with lacking content through out Season 2) winds up shutting down to later relaunch early 2024.

yeah, I don't buy the whole "it was an open beta" angle that's getting pushed by WB, most open beta's don't sell you multiple season passes and have $100,000 tournaments

that said, if this decision leads to Multiversus being a bigger and better fighting game then i'm all for it, I just hope ppl care enough to play it by the time it comes back
I just picked up Granblue Fantasy Versus on Steam for $4.99 CAD. Any other ridiculous deals on FG games for my Steam Deck?
Guilty Gear Strive dropped on the Xbox Series X today! Came sooner than expected!

That completely took me by surprise, literally the first I heard of this was a big GG Strive ad on the Game Pass section of my Xbox Dashboard.

^ Yes! It got shadow dropped and was announced in the morning! Ahead of the "Spring 2023" launch window.
While we wait for DOA's *ahem* reboot, here's a fundamental look at DOA's movement options!

tbh mentioning the 4[4]4[4] way to retreat would've been more important than KBD because not every character can KBD, and it's easier to execute
I just made an observation tonight that you need Playstation Plus+ to play DOA5LR / DOA6 online on a PS5 (and probably a PS4?), though DOA6 doesn't require Xbox Live Gold on an Xbox X|S. That is odd.

Fair enough, here its better to put aside money since pretty good PC's (for overall use that can also play majority of games released in the past 2-3 years with decent quality too) start at like 1.1-1.2K euros but we still don't really have XseXes and PS5's in stock in most electronic shops (in the city that I live in, don't know about the bigger ones) that should usually have them and on sites that have PS5's

for sale even if they're bundled with 1-2 controllers and/or some games, they cost at least 800 euros-900 euros (somewhat the same for XseX too). The only last gen console that is in stock with decent price is the XseS but in my country I can't buy any version of Game Pass for it (well, we also have the Switch, which is even cheaper but ehhh) so this really leaves the PC as the best option here imo.

Fair enough. Any choice is fine overall if you want solid performance. XseX & PS5's are still a bit challenging to find here (fuck the store "scalper-level" bundles haha) and cap out at about $800 max CAD for said bundles (regular price $600 XseX and $630-$650 for PS5). I struggle to find a worthwhile gaming PC here for less than $1300 (at that point, you might as well get the $300 XseS).
Took an opportunity to vote on the Game Awards: Best Fighting Game this evening, and this year's offerings are kinda sad: https://thegameawards.com/nominees/best-fighting

I guess, MultiVersus? Looking forward to the FGC jolt after SF6 & T8 in the future.
Hot Take: DOA6 would've actually did fine if it had rollback netcode (GGPO, not "Tekken 7/SFV 'rollback'".) The game is innately fun to play, and is held back severely by near unplayable netcode. DOA6/DOA5LR are also technically free-to-play games that don't require PS+ or XBLG helping out with online players.

I guess it would have helped for sure, but for it to be fine it'd have gameplay where no one would complain about it even during offline matches. The game came out pre-pandemic, and I remember it not even getting DOA5's kind of support for offline matches/tourneys. A lot of us stuck with the game for what it was, sure, but too many veterans were dropping it due to stuff like the meter and brake hold and stuff, right?

Oh, a DOA6 with GGPO rollback wouldn't do anywhere close to Tekken 7 numbers or anything, but a technically F2P game with solid netcode would have a fairly continuous stream of players. DOA6's gameplay is also nowhere near as oppressive as, say, GG Strive's.

DOA6 got a lot more support from the developers for the first year actually, remember the 10,000,000 Yen World Tour? "Veterans" dropping off wouldn't really affect casuals from trying a F2P game that much unless there were big name streamers actively shitting on the game.
Happy birthday to the Playstation 5 & Xbox Series X this week! Can't believe it's been 2 years already. Rarely see those consoles on store shelves if ever.

At least the Series X is at a way better price compared to the PS5 when its/they're available (where I live, don't know about other countries). Even the PS5's that are bundled together with 1-2 games are like almost 300 euros more expensive than the Series X. They both are nice consoles but both of them are relatively rare to find in stores and one of them (PS5) is far too overpriced.

^ Got GameStop here. (Equivalent to GAME I guess), and PS5's are only acquired at that store chain through the purchase of a $900+ CAD bundle. XSX's cost $600+ CAD in comparison. Was a nightmare tracking them down last year, and glad to see the situation technically improve somewhat.

Yeah I'll admit I had to buy a bundle but I got the cheapest one they had which was a PS5, Horizon Forbidden West, Controller cover and a subscription to their membership that I'll never use. That cost me £530 which isn't too bad when PS5+HFW costs £520 on their own.
I can't emphasize enough how incredibly useful Twitter's Block function is. Saves my sanity every time I log onto that platform.

I assume you're playing Royal? Funny thing is that Morgana actually tells you to go to sleep significantly less than the vanilla version. Pretty much only when you come back from Palaces/Mementos (which tbf Persona 4 doesn't let you go out at night after doing dungeons either). He used to do it during important story sections too in Vanilla where in those same sections you now have the option to go out.
