@Hazard Aww that's unfortunate. His Akira is pretty good and I'd like to see more Japanese players in the competitive scene. Maybe if a new Virtua Fighter gets announced (whenever that is), he'll be back and compete against Homestay Akira lol.

JCA is going to try the game still (least now). Its just that Akira clicked for him the most so he wasnt feeling the change and other characters probably. Think the case is that if hes not 100% for DOA6, he's going full time Tekken.

He plays Miguel, Geese, & Akuma. Mostly Miguel though. For JCA, I play Akira as well and I completely understand what he was going through. For some people it might not be that serious I guess and he can just pick anyone else, but for JCA it meant something to him so it was noble and genuine. It was a big wound on my end as well as for @Hazard + other Akira players out there, but for JCA it was a part of him.

I mean it was to be expected of playing Akira in final days. When 5U was released it was at that point where you'd have to think about the upcoming games and characters not returning and I been thought about that way long time ago. I can practically play anyone if I sat down and played them, but Akira was definitely a character that also clicked for me the most lol so I can understand.

I play akira exclusively in vf and your points are one of the reasons why I never main guest or new characters and stick with busa and leifang for example. It can be very discouraging for a tournament player, "wasting" so much time on a character just to see him being removed

It sucks when the character you click the most with is a guest character, but it is to be expected that guest characters leave after a certain time.
@XxNoriakixX I don’t think it only goes for tournament players, it’s for any player that mains a guest character. It’s sad that some characters leave but that’s just the way it is.

@XxNoriakixX Probably wouldn't consider it to be a time waster. Seeing completely new characters such as guests can be refreshing since it adds another layer of playability for the game as well as enjoyment depending on what type of guest/new character was introduced, mostly beneficial.

I wouldn't call playing a guest character for 6 years a time waster. Hell if anything, it just means each game is truly a new experience.

Hey I was at work and couldn't find a different word for waste, I am sorry for my bad word choice. You are both right of course! I just had the same problem in T7 and I don't have the time to learn a new character to bring my game on the same level as my 20 years of experience leifang or Julia for example, so I can understand that JC might not take the new DoA too seriously. 50/50 I guess

Playing a character is never a waste, it’s not like people can’t play Akira again. If they feel like playing Akira again they can always return to 5.
