  • Honestly, not playing fighting games for over 6 months made me less anxious. It might sound weird to some people but back then I was so focused on being good enough that I let it affect my self worth and let it be dependant on how good I was at a fighting game.

Interesting random bit, i'm probably a better FFXIV player than a DOA player lol. Did that just by trying another game. Honestly crazy and opened my brain a bit that there is nothing wrong with trying new things.

The issue with playing one or even two fighting games almost all the time is that sooner or later you'll be burnt out and forcing yourself to play the games despite you not enjoying them can get to a point where it affects performance in said games or can even affect you mentally. That's why taking small breaks from them or playing more fighters/other type of games ends up being beneficial.

There have been multiple instances where I took a break from specific fighters only to come back and be better at them because I wasn't burnt out anymore and/or I was able to apply the tech/info that I learned from watching tournaments and high level players. Its definitely better to have fighting games as side games, something that you play for fun, rather than main games, which imo is the best way to enjoy them.
I’m planning on visiting my fathers grave for the first time in 12 years this summer. I’m really nervous about it, but also angry at my fathers family for burying him at the other side of the world.
Karma’s a bitch, usually I’m not a spiritual person but it’s funny how some things play out.
SF6 looks really good, I’m excited for the new characters, some of them look really promising. Especially AKI, the new French girl and the black girl.
The show “All of us are dead” is really a zombie show done right imo. Zombie stories usually get boring really quickly but with this title I just can’t stop watching. Definitely recommend watching it if you haven’t.

From the title, I'm going to guess everyone will die. That sounds awesome! Be sure to check out.

    You definitely should!
There could be a 100 people in the room and if you don’t like 99 of them, focus on the one that you do like.
Honestly missing how crowded this forum used to be and how DOA used to be thriving.

Can you read English or are just commenting, for the sake of commenting?

yeah DOA5U times I think were the funnest. I miss some of the peeps here that used to frequent the forum. Chapstick, Yurlungur, Nereus, Tenryuga, Hazard, Renderingstar, Panicitstylor, etc. just to name a few.

Same here, it was just a more fun environment to be around. Back then DOA was getting regular updates, tournaments were fun to watch, the forum was crowded and there was always something fun to talk about.
With DOA6 I feel like there’s nothing to talk about because nobody is even playing it.

As far as the forum goes, it feels pretty much like a classroom where there are certain cliques.
