Hate to beat a dead horse, but I could have seen the same potential for Ein too. 8P/8K Fatal stuns. His fatal rush starter being a tracking move. Getting some of DOA3 Hayate's old moves to enhance his own. Oh well. At least Leon would be the easiest to write back into the story. You might see him down the line if DOA6HC or DOA6U becomes a thing.
We're not doing this, Brute. I already know how salty you in particular are about Leon's absence. But the point is they're both omitted for the same reasons. At least you can take comfort in knowing he's got a better shot at returning. Not to mention, it's just as easy for TN to introduce a new or guest character with that unique gameplay feature of Leon's. Or worse yet just slap that air throw on Bayman.
They're not "both omitted for the same reasons."
Giving Bayman an absurdly powerful offensive tool like that would make no sense given that he's designed as a defensive character. Yes, they could introduce a new character with the aerial redirect, and yes, that would be a way better character than the two new characters we actually got. It would also be better than just ditching that mechanic completely for no reason
