Same, it's kinda strange since people demand characters they didn't use much anyway, like I don't understand most people who wanted her and Raidou back since its not like they even really touched them. Same with Lisa, she had alot of hype but idk if that will really show long term when the game releases tbh

To be fair I've seen more people using Raidou and Lisa on streams and tournaments than any Momijis. I use Raidou myself occasionally. The only person I know that used Momiji was a friend of mine from when I lived back in Venezuela. He never got good with her though.

It's really baffling to me. My guess is she has a small but hardcore group of fans because of DOAX and Ninja Gaiden? What's especially weird is that you don't see as much complaining about the lack of Rachel, who was actually quite popular in DOA5LR.

Maybe the Rachel players are actually intelligent and know her arrival is imminent via DLC, while the Momiji ones are, like you said, just Xtreme 3 players hoping to masturbate to her while they lose matches.

I'm still skeptical that we'll see the Ninja Gaiden characters again, but it would be cool for Rachel to come back as DLC. If not, we gotta have another heavy lady like Rachel/Spartan/etc.

I think most of that stems is because she's pretty+cute and nothing much else. One of the easiest characters to use and similar to Gen Fu and maybe Hayate in terms of generic. Watching Momiji gameplay actually makes me sleepy.

I'm always neutral for Momiji's entry but to me, she's "just there" like a house plant sitting in a corner.

I never tried her to be honest. I remember being extremely excited about her because TN sold her as an aikido fighter and I loved Aoi in VF5. Then we got another fucking ninja with one or two aikido throws. I was so disappointed that I never played her again.

Rachel is pretty fucking amazing though. I do want her back.

Quite a number of people use her now that I think about it, but I think Momiji at times happens to be that character where she's treated more often as a sub character than a main character. If someone played Momiji, 90% chances he/she plays multiple characters and never 100% Momiji.

Moving forward I would really like a ban on adding any more damned ninjas. Honestly even three is enough (Kasumi/Ayane/Hayate). I get that ninjas are important to DOA's story, but think about how absurd it would be to have like 4+ Tai Chi characters.

Momiji in DOA never had any personality either, imo. She just felt like kind of a meek ninja lady. Compare that to Rachel, who just oozes charisma, even in her moveset.

Reminds me of the Karin-Mika fiasco except people actually use them enough.

Any character is super annoying in the right hands. People consider Brad a bad character but I have a friend that’s super good with him and I just can’t seem to get used to fighting him.
