One problem with making fighting games accessible is the Dunning-Kruger effect to people who have played previous entries and harder games overall. You can't truly gauge what you need improvement on.

For DOA6's case it varies. There are some good things about it as well as bad things. There is no sense of achievement if you are not "truly" outplaying your opponent. This like connect four vs chess, you get more bang and sense of victory if you win a chess match compared to connect four.

I mean, it's been noted here and there from even other studios that making everything too easy just leads a game into clunk zone (which has been proven from ancient fighting games). There are some things that could be made easier for FGs game obviously such as move bufferings in heavy fighters (KOF) because of the format, but when it comes to mechanics, not all should be easy.

^/^ This I don't like the victories to feel shallow, it's just as bad as losing. You never really learn from your experience be it win or loss because the pins already set up for you to knock down. Sure, I can win because I know the rules but it removes the factor of discovery and satisfaction that comes w/it I'm more curious and engaged when me and my opponent does a cool setup no one expected or knew about.
Since when are people hating on Kojima, one the last few developers that doesn't bend the knee to greedy ass developers? Oh, yeah, most likely Pay-to-win online absorbed Zoomers.

This game's too divisive. I'm actually more curious about the world and the fact people are scared of rainbows. I've seen people do way more repetitive shit to reach an end goal in something that feeds curiosity. i"m legit feeling a lot of emotions playing though but idk I smoke weed so, I can be all fake deep about the subject and have fun that way. I had a plan! Boredom's a choice.

What if this is a high production ver of Journey and ppl r getting fooled by the triple A skin of it? I know Senua's Sacrifice was like really pretty looking and people were fooled into thinking it was way more than meets the eye. You did the same thing but it was a cool experience. It's hard to defend it w/o seeming like a shill. I think people just want a nice 1P experience to hold us down till nxt big title.

It's a great game from what I'm seeing. Just a lot different than what we are use to.
You gotta worry about net. The ones w/ good net, I despise(NRS) The games having weird players overall. Hate all the factors to consider if a FG is worth playing, if at all. Same with new FGs. Don't really like newer fgs attempt at w/e they're doing to beloved franchises but people need to learn
I don't understand myself. I always play games the most when I'm busy in my life and not enough when I'm free. I hate liking FGs for the simple fact they're not genres you just,"hop" on and play.

I get what you mean. VG's are an escape, so you value them the most when you need a break. But when you're "free" in life, you feel guilty if you use that time to game.
Went into SBs to buy a coffee for my old man for the first time. I never felt disrespected as a customer before. You guys upset at the mean things written on cups? I'm surprised they have the audacity to make me put my own sugar/cream. On top of the price.

@Raansu I make a typo? Starbucks is trash and was right to never go there myself. I'll stick to the carts on the corner, sure, it takes like 20 mins to cool off to drink safely but at least I can buy it and be on my merry way to get to business

I'm just trying to follow what exactly you're mad about. Adding sugar to coffee is generally something most coffee shops don't do as how much sugar added tends to be personal preference.

Welp. This what happens when I make a post in the morning hours still cranky.
Holy cow! Modern Warfare Campaign is straight propaganda. I think I legit dislike Russians now. (The pixelated ones) Yes, I know about the Highway of death fiasco. Mostly referring to the mission afterward.
You know you're an adult when you stop getting excited for Halloween and start getting worried something horrific might happen. It's why I like Dia De Los Muertos better, it has a positive sentiment unlike Halloween.
I've noticed that it isn't just FGs that are ruining established playstyles and making it accessible for bad habit players. It's CoD now too. No run n gun just a camper's paradise. Franchises are changing
This why I say what I do. Tekken cool and all but it obviously doesn't encourage its players to be technical. No one can say Tekken isn't the poor man's VF after charging for Frame Data.

Well tbf Tekken was originally just a 2D fighter until they implemented the sidestep in tekken 3 and even then the sidestep is a bit primitive in tekken since the game wasn't really built around that. SC has always been an full 3d game and the game has button and attacks that center on shutting 8 way run down. DOA also was originally 2D until DOA2
    KasumiLover

But even then the 3d movement was mainly for avoiding walls and danger zones and maneuvering, it didn't really an actual tracking usage until like DOA5 but I think that was because VF had their hand in assisting and fine tuning the game with how they added stagger escape and such

I like that Tekken 7 will add in-game frame data finally, but this really should've been a thing back in 2012 when VF5:FS & DOA5 implemented it. It's an archaic mindset to exclude something like that, which is one of my biggest turnoff's with Namco's FGs. As for movement, VF's is most sophisticated & SC's is most intuitive.
Another thing is, who is it for? I on't see any of the old cats on it .

From what I've heard, the online mode of that game leaves a lot to be desired, visuals don't seem the best, plus I agree with you, right now it seems that fighting games are more about the fast-paced, in your face 24/7 gameplay than the "I'm going to wait in this part of the screen for 600 years until you mess up since I have the health lead anyhow".

I'm not entirely against that either and I appreciate those moments more so in 3D fgs as it can get intense. The game does stand out too much. I just think it's funny people think they're nice in this game on some MLG shit. It's worse that the game seems to be lacking its older playerbase as it's fairly an old series. Can't wait for the VF6 hype train. Going to get me a lotta free wins.

@ChaolanLegacy Online has been good since the 1.11 update, mostly just QoL changes that added more options for lobbies and ranked, as for the game being slow, yeah there are characters who can slow the pace of the match to an absolute crawl, but after playing this game for a spell there i'd say there are more characters who can deny that gameplan and force a much faster and wilder pace
SamSho is overrated and doesn't age well in the current climate. Sorry not sorry. Yes, I'm saying this as someone who plays VF. SS is boring and doesn't have half of the execution as previous entries. Played it in Shareplay, knew right away I Wouldn't like it.

Every other 2D fighting game on the market > SFV

I talk smack but I've a actually been enjoying sfv lately, when you play the right character and have the right mindset it's a fun game

    Hold_Junkie93
Oh, no, it's better than SFV off the bat because at least it kept some form of identity and consistency with the characters. SFV could be better if they just literally add all or half of the characters featured in usf4.
Call of Duty just got better and fighting games are getting worse. What's going on man?

I'm still debating if I'm going to get CoD right now. I started playing outer worlds last night and that game is going to take up a huge chunk of my time lol. Crazy that the game launched up against CoD though.

That's an oopsie on their part but it seems those games have a different kind of target audience

For sure on the audience thing, so it may not hurt them that much.
DoA 6 is the first game where I have to pick a top tier, not to win per se but feel like my mind can transfer what I'm thinking onto the pad. DoA5 in general, lets me do what my mind is thinking. Could give, "IE:s"but you get me already.
I want fan art of all common japanese main fg characters in photo together with the rising sun in background kinda like what SF4 did. Or Have Kazuya EWGF and Kasumi phasing in/out, Kyo and Akira with backs against one another testsuzano, Ryu doing hado and Scorp spear. Haomaru and Mitsurugi clashing swords. All in one pic.
