I'm sure it does. My point is many games could use sequels but it seems like games that could easily be one and done get a lot of sequels. Yet games that end in cliff hangers and are praised well don't. Had to kickstart Shenmue III. C'mon, yo.
Fighting games are definitely an exception. There's a market for it. sequels or spiritual successors are expected. There's no Market for flight sims. So, they do have all that cash to themselves but in a way probably get overshadowed by Mil-sims. I can fly a jet, helicopter, a tank in Modern Battlefield games or Arma though. So, there's that.
