Free Step Dodge

The whole situation with the DLC, & Season Pass 1, etc., which I also don't give a fuck about; having your $92.99 Season Pass ready before lobbies are available, again looks really, really bad to potential suitors for DOA6. DOA is not SF, it can't afford to have the pub/dev shoot the franchise in the foot so much. Get your fucking shit together KT, seriously. -FoN

I'm genuinely sad. Not because of lobbies specifically but It really... Sigh. It just really shows a lack of direction and purpose. Like they aren't trying.

The most aggravating aspects of this whole situation is that deep down, I feel that quite a bit of people in the FGC actually want to like and learn DOA6, but there are SO many elements that hold the franchise back: sexuality stigma, critical hold "get out of stun combos" mechanics, relatively awkward movement compared to most FG's, a shitton of depth & complexity that perplexes a lot of potential new players, etc.

So when Koei-Tecmo make these dumb fucking marketing decisions (which have plagued DOA6's promotion), it feels like a massive foot in the crotch to the people that actually put forth an effort or downright bust their ass to support DOA6, so that potentially interested suitors to DOA6 can receive a fair chance to genuinely get into the game and enjoy it.

@NewWestFan I wouldn't quite say that Team Ninja isn't trying (Koei-Tecmo may not be trying, but are likely just incompetent at this point), but moreso a case that they don't know what the fuck they're doing. To be fair the hassling about the "toned down" fanservice back probably did throw off their original direction, and even now, it just feels like they're constantly scrambling to fix the mess that is DOA6.

Whatever the case. I don't know that I can tolerate it. This is... Just the worst lmao... Exceeded all expectations of mine for how bad of a launch it could be. Nothing has gone right. Nothing is being corrected or addressed when people want/feel it should be. The only thing that is on time right now is the DLC, and I honestly think that's very telling. This is my favorite franchise lol This hurts.

I could probably stomach another month of getting on ranked with Lisa and having my hard earned damage ripped from me because one of her strings isn't a true combo and I ate a side step attack mid mix-up or people relying so heavily on side step as a means of mindgames that I stop seeing the differences between the characters... But MK11 is so close. And Sekiro is so good. They have lost me until I hear good shit.
