I mangled my thumbs at 7 to casually throw hadokens and senppu rensans. I had to do controller gymnastics execute Vega lv3 super in alpha 3 that shit was basically a 720 but I actually did the full input. This sentence went nowhere I just wanted to show where I came from.
I started playing 2D fighters way way way later down the line (I think early 2010's), so i remember the days of trying to throw fireballs without jumping and being able to DP only the left side of the screen, but now I play airdashers and anime fighters with stupid high execution on the regular so its no biggie now
its just annoying when i see a fighting game that actually looks cool but when I read the description i see that dreaded "no more complicated inputs! just press one button for specials!". cause on the real, that shit feels so weird to play, like the amount of effort i've put in for the motion doesn't match the effectiveness of the move on the screen, it's such a disconnect that my brain can't comprehend it
They should strikes a balance, don't alienate the audience that s been a part of your genre for 30+ years and don't bend over backwards just so Johnny157 who really likes forrnite can also have a shot
