just because anime became recently accessible to EOPs doesn't mean they haven't been doing this since the beginning of time. given that a big portion of this planet (and of course, japan) prefers younger partners and there are no consequences within fiction, it's not hard to get why it's popular. if you disagree with this, don't consume their products because they aren't gonna change for your personal sensibilities
