  • I’ve noticed how most (if not all) of the newcomers in the latest 3D fighters have very short movelists and are usually easy to use. Especially T7 and DOA6 :/

    I mean easy can have different meanings since it can also vary by the type of people playing the character+approach. It's usually the context and at times how much effort placed into a character. You can have an easy character with incredible depth to it because there is much things to experiment, or you can have an incredibly high difficult character with barely any depth (Raidou).

    Ein/Momiji could be characters labeled a more fundamental level, but yet both characters lack depth due to just basic functions overall that other characters generally have, if not other characters have things that are just plain better. Even Gen Fu lacks depth despite a more powerful character, just hit a few buttons+vortex and boom. Diego's rather similar, not much going on and tends to feel like he's "just there".

    For Tekken on the other hand, it's just based on that game's format. We can't exactly mix Tekken's difficulty+character being easy/hard as the same thing because it gives people the perception that both things are the same. Some people find Tekken easy, some people find it hard. Same as DOA.

    Just like with Xrd, game is made using a different engine plus most characters got new looks to themselves, so its almost like they made the characters from scratch again. With BBTag its that they have to make the already existing moveset of their characters work in BBTag, Litchi for instance would feel slightly different in Tag compared to how she is and how she's played in CF, so, there are reasons.

    i'm going to stay skeptical of the MK leaks considering the creators love to troll and have a history of leaving red herrings in the games code.

    If I recall that was the code left in injustice 2 before they revealed the dlc, obviously that never came to pass so who knows about the validity of these "leaks", only time will tell

    Ed Boon has been known for doing that yeah. Definitely take it with a grain of salt when it comes to Ed Boon and his team lol.
    I’m kinda annoyed that Namco is still incredibly ageist when it comes to female characters.

    Yup! They have a long track record of doing this to the point where Nina and Anna are the only female characters from pre-timeskip Tekken to remain :/ and even then they were in cryosleep so they don’t age!
    Im gonna get shot for saying this but I’m not feeling Setsuka’s new look. I think it’s the face (in both the official art AND her in-game model)...
    I’ve been saying for a long-ass time that the fighting game esports “community” is mostly nothing but smoke and mirrors lol. I’m kinda glad to see the beginnings of it all crashing and burning so something decent can potentially rise from its ashes.

    I was lucky I only hopped into the beta when there was maintenance ongoing and you were open to play against the computer, lol.
    Don't know why it's JUST DOA5 where people tell me I throw too much. I was under the assumption that's how you punish unsafe moves or maybe i'm wrong...
    DOA5 tag needed a damn burst button, what are these 80% juggle combos lol

    For all the people asking for Tag back, 80%+ combos is the mode in a nutshell. Haven't played that shit since, like, 2013 haha.

    Ya mean what are these infinites. Reason nr.1 why I wouldn't like Tag back in a DOA game again if its done the way it was made in 5. Some tag teams barely get more damage from their tag juggles compared to what they can dish out solo, other teams literally have infinites/TOD's that are quite easy to do.

    Didn't Xrd Sign originally launch with like, 13-14 playable characters? I mean, I get it, game was made with UE3 and they ditched the old sprites completely but I don't think that Strive will 100% launch with a handful of characters that you can choose from either just because its a legacy game, especially since we have the same situation on our hands, Strive uses UE4, not 3 + some characters got new looks again.

    Hmm... Fair enough. Why do ArcSys games release with such few characters? KOF & Tekken, for instance, release with shit-tons of characters in comparison.

    I'd say that it is because of the small development time that the games are given plus that in the past few years they've been constantly releasing games after games or new versions of existing games with barely any break time for themselves. Its ok though, as long as the base game is 40$ with the first season pass making it 60$ (like how BBTAG was), this way the players won't feel that they are scammed.
    What was endgame with the change to destructibles? It gets in the way now more than anything since characters just slink to the ground now smh!
