I've seen people say that they like Vesperia a lot and people that dislike it too, same with almost every Tales game and they didn't get negative comments for saying that they dislike x Tales game.

I personally enjoyed Vesperia. Berseria as well. Tales communities have been general all around so I agree.

Honestly, the Tales series was always a series you can just play all the way and get something good out of it that was worth the money. Don't think there was a Tales game I disliked with the exception of Zestiria, but even Zestiria has some good bits here and there.

Agreed, so far I'm playing Berseria, Phantasia (PS1) and Abyss. Even if I slightly dislike Abyss compared to the other two for how the plot doesn't seem to advance for one-third of the game (where I left things off, big backlog, I know that things will get more interesting), the limited-time sidequests, the fact that there's not much of a reason to use other characters than Luke unless you like one of them,

the story is overall interesting, the amount of sidequests are quite surprising in a positive way, bonus points for them being good and not annoying and there are quite a lot of new ones in NG+ too and the main characters and their interactions are entertaining, Jade is probably one of the best Tales characters period and combat is pretty fun, so I can't call it a bad game despite me slightly disliking elements of it

I started with Xillia, I was excited when Vesperia Remastered came out but I kinda dropped off around the second half though (when a certain pink haired princess is captured) didn't help that the gameplay was somewhat dated compared to the combo machine that is Berseria lol. other than that the only one I really dislike is Zesteria every time I sit down and try to play it I remind myself why I stopped.

There are a lot of people disliking Zestiria for a lot of reasons, the main one back in the day for Japan before the game's release was that a certain character that was already announced that looked to be the female protagonist of the game got "demoted" for one that from the trailers looked to be a secondary party character only for her to be the main female character.
