You can lab a whole situation and still die off it because a game can not reward you much for finding a defensive solution, especially online. Plus, consider how players play a character, you're gonna be in different situations. And just because something's "labbed" doesn't make the situation much better.

I'll use DOA for example, You can lab Kasumi, realize that her free cancels are - af, that you should be throw punishing, challenging at xyz, etc, and still lose due to 1. Long strings, 2. Delayable strings, 3. i9, 4. possibility of battling up to 7 FRAMES of input lag, 5. different playstyle, 6. some moves have pushback, etc. Like that's not a labbing issue, it's an execution issue then at that point.

Like people need to stop saying "Oh just lab the character", "Then you use _________ and see for yourself", etc. How about instead saying "hey, this character's strong, here's the situations that you can see, here's what I like to do and let's continue playing sets so that you can get more accustomed not only to my character but the way I play the character."

At the same time, the player has to commit to wanting to learn how to counter the character/player. If you complain but play the same way because "I want my combo's", no wonder you're losing. There's no drive to improve or drive to grind. And for that, there are a plethora of games for YOLO gameplay. I play em at times too.

Final point I'ma make on this: The reason Korean & Pakistan tekken grew strong and is now a legit powerhouse is because they labbed together and continuously improved each other as players. Learned to execute together, learned how to handle situations in the clutch, how a character operates, how specific players play, etc. Until we can get to that kind of level, we'll continuously have this kind of argument.

I got that from the Esports video on Qudan's when he won TWT 2017.
