Not only that, but other characters play a specific significant role in some fashion in OG DB. I still believe that forms of power scale started going too crazy when it hit the Buu saga.

It's why when it comes to DB-DBZ, I enjoyed DB all the way to the Frieza saga because everything felt like some adventure where it just leaves you in suspense on what happens next.

Course Cell saga was really good too, I enjoyed it as much as Frieza saga. Buu saga too but then you'd start looking around and feeling bad for Tien, Krillen, Piccolo, Chiaotzu, and eventually Gohan and Android 18 where they are just there to fill spots.

personally wasn't a fan of the Buu saga, and that (for me) was around the time DB started turning into the Goku and Vegeta show, and its only gotten worse with time :/

same thing happened to Naruto, hell same thing even happened to Sonic the Hedgehog lol

@Camel with 2 thumbs Gohan and Krillen adventures back on Namek was top tier, I miss it lol. I was anxious and suspense on what happens on the next episode, because the moment those two arrived, they could get attacked by Frieza's forces at ANY time, power difference was unknown but wasn't monstrously high. Those two were on an adventure lol.

Which is hilariously ironic at first because I had doubts at the time where I told myself "Eh, the show's mostly about Goku so I'll just consider these parts as filler".

Gohan and Krillen together proved me wrong. I was at the edge of my seat when they were grabbing the dragonballs, escaping/fighting from Vegeta, Zarbon, Dodoria, Ginyu Force etc.
