I look at it like this, in the old arcade days, it was likely harder to win, due to limited information, but it was easier to git gud because you were grinding with others and as you learn and progress together, your community grows as well. Plus if you're playing arcade FG's vs each other, it does cost $$ so you'd best get your money's worth. It's why when Green arcade was up Tekken had all the killers.

In the new online days, it's easier to win, due to an abundant of information that continues to grow, but it's harder to git gud because as more people are playing, you have to really utilize that information in the best was possible in a way that benefits you, while others can be using it to find ways to counter-act you. Also playing random players you never met, you never know what you're getting into.....

Idc really about what he said but he and other old heads need to realize: we're in a new era now. Arcades are barely here, and social media and streams are way bigger than just for clout, it helps you make friends, make a fanbase and get your names out there and it's also where alot of tech and such is shared...

Also games today still take skill, I'm tired of all these older players bringing up older games because they required "skill"... So do modern games, it's just been simplified since games don't need to be SNK hard. While I can see the point he made, the delivery made him sound old and bitter imo like a few older players I've encountered. It's a new time and era, get over it and move on is what I think basically

Lastly, it's also difficult to stand out. Which is why consistency is highly emphasized in regards to tourneys. And in regards to old, with limited information, some situations end up being hit or miss and if you miss it hurts, so in a way you had to figure out the safest options the best way possible before the opposition did.
