Especially if they want to put bets on all types of games. Like I can beat you in ,"X" of any genre. It's tiring how disconnected other gamers are to FGC gamers. Put this in the hood, and it's 10X worse with the perception of these games. I get surprised when I see FGC peeps from The Bronx when I travel to events. Lol

People who don't know anything about fighting games will often come to that conclusion though, not realizing that every fighting game is different and that they require the person to be especially good at certain aspects of a specific game in order to successfully and consistently win games, iirc many SF players couldn't play or couldn't get into Blazblue because the game is way too hectic.

Which is true, even for airdasher standards, CF and Tag are super wild fighting games, where offense is more preferred than defense. A player who wants to invest time into fighting games has to develop specific set of skills in order to improve at the video game but that might not carry nearly as well into another fighting game that they want to try out, where they have to learn even more.

Pair that up with the need of frame data knowledge at higher levels, along with character match-ups, what attributes of almost each and every move that the player and the opponent's character has at disposal and you've got yourself an answer to the question of: Why are fighting games hard and why most people can't get into them?
