Bruh I feel you. 6 really did kill any kind of unique-ness to the characters. Every Kasumi, and Lei Fang plays the same because there isn't much you can do. I remember years ago I seen a Lei Fang do a force tech I never seen before, and I was like word? you can do that?

Even though this isn't needed. Way back when I seen a Kasumi do a power launcher ran under the person still did hits within the PL combo and this triggered the environment giving her even more hits. Super flashy and entertaining, and I knew that Kasumi was like SWEET this is my chance to get this swag combo. Very flashy Kasumi. It was just the persons style of play they liked being flashy if they could.

Kasumi has always been a flashy fighter. This is why I’m so disappointed with her in 6. She still has her flashy moveset, but her flashy combo’s aren’t optimal or worth doing at all. She’s forced to play a certain way to be effective with her.

Yea she was always flashy. You could play her flashy or modest or a mix of both too. but now I feel you have to play the way the game set it up to be. Only a one way street here in DOA6.

Kasumi has a more varied moveset yes, but in high level play, Kasumi has to be played in a certain way. Same goes for majority of the fighters. DOA limits the characters and the combo’s. That’s why Kasumi is butchered. She’s flashy and she can’t be flashy now because the scaling ruins everything.

Her Max dmg combo after 236T is 33P H+K.P 236p or breakblow. For all weight classes. In DOA5 she had different Max damage combo’s for the weight classes, which gave her more options. Her base moveset is better in 6 but she’s and the rest are limited. The only character that I feel truly benefits DOA6 is mai, since she’s a lot more fun in 6.

DOA5 already had good general combos, and you could play very simple and still be decent at the game. but if you wanted to be different you could. We as a community only found out about these things through exploring, but in DOA6 they took away that. No point in exploring different options and having variety if there is none.

Like chase said. In DOA5 you also had general combo’s like 236T 6K PPKK, and doing just these combo’s were fine but you also had options to do other stuff to get around the same damage or a bit more. The Max damage combo’s required good timing and weren’t that easy.
this guide to this day shows how varied she used to be in 5.
