@DestructionBomb Let be realistic. They can't make another good original title. Ninja Gaiden was Itagakis success, they failed it without him. Nioh is collaboration work with Kou Shibusawa, not their own. Their new IPs will be either Koeis collaborative projects or niche games, that won't grow into series
How in the world is Final Fantasy and Zelda niche games? do you know how much massive two games are? let alone how big their community is over DOA? DOA is extremely far more niche than those two. There is literally no competition. Team NINJA to work on those two games is a life chance that I'm 100% sure they are proud of, of course they freelanced and worked on those games more.
@DestructionBomb Not Final Fantasy, but Dissidia Final Fantasy, PSP spinoff of FF, and not Zelda, but musou crossover Hyrule Warriors and other crossovers turned into musou. You are too evaluate them
@DestructionBomb I'm not sure that they can create good original IP in their current state. Doing games for already existing franchises is the one thing, creating own one - is another
If you are having a writer's block for your own games, then it's perfectly normal to work on a new IP. Because it sounds better to make an IP if your old stuff is not going anywhere "at this present time," developers have the option to take a break to work on something new, this is normal.
@DestructionBomb It's good that they make games for other companies, but there will be a moment when simply they couldn't be hired for something. Or there is a possibility that their new IP won't be so good and people won't like it. It can happen easily.
@DestructionBomb They failed with DOA6, but not DOA,because it's kinda established. If they will fail with new IP, so existence of this IP will be stopped.
But it's also a possibility that the current games they worked on won't do as goo- oh wait, that already happened lel.
Hence why they took a break to work on something new because the developers are humans as well. Anyways, TN made the right call to work on Hyrule Warriors and a new IP.
@DestructionBomb if they want to move to next level with their OWN original IP, they have to create fresh and interesting ideas, not similar to what they have. Otherwise their IP will stay in shadow of their other franchises, and they will drop it as they dropped Ninja Gaiden in terms of sequel or DOA
