different games, different combo theories, Marvel games (and by extension Battle of the Grid) have very freeform combos compared to most anime fighters; for one hitstun in marvel deteriorates VERY slowly compared to your average anime game, and Marvel tends to have million ways to extend hitstun (wall bounce, ground bounce, OTG, crumple stuns, assists, fly cancels, etc)
