RWBY and Sword Art is two of the things that I immediately dropped after tons of episodes in, and saw the entire first season of SAO.

There's something about RWBY that just looks and feels fan-made. You seen their first season? dear lord it was awful lol (but maybe it got better).

Sword Art Online is far worse though.

Haha, yeah the first couple seasons of RWBY are pretty rough. It basically started as a "passion" project of Monty Oum's. From about Season 3 or so onwards the overall quality increased immensely. Volume 7 in particular was pretty intense. It's pretty neat seeing how the show improves in little ways in the latter volumes. It's come a long way.

Not as familiar with Sword Art Online, but haven't heard good things about it, and haven't been too impressed from what I've seen from synopses of its plot. Seriously though, RWBY's quality got a massive boost from Volume 6 onwards and is pretty legit.

Haven't been able to watch the last season nor find time to do it (among many other shows/animes) but judging from the s1 to s7 RWBY in the first two seasons was kind of average in terms of both quality and story but the latter became better after season 3 and the overall quality became better after season 4, especially visible in s6-7.

I do understand people who do not like the show for certain reasons, especially when it comes to how it looks compared to other cartoons/animes artstyle-wise, which is the reason why some didn't like Skullgirls compared to other fighters but then we have ppl who said that RWBY's story went downhill after season 3 while (imo) story-wise the first two seasons were the weakest so far.

Definitely. The visual production quality of the first two RWBY seasons is incredibly rough. Not surprised that DB got turned off by the first season haha. RT were still just basically a Machinima firm at that point. Though, I've also acknowledged that RWBY is an acquired taste that isn't for everyone. Still stand by that I'd like more western anime. Huge breath of fresh air in the genre.
