Imagine if that would've been the case. If people didn't play TR as much as they did then we might have not seen Tekken 7 as quickly as we did, or we may not have seen it at all even now, in that case only DOA would've been the one to carry 3D fighting games for a long long time.

IDK, man. DOA isn't coming back. I don't even think it did anything to raise the bar, and it's a niche game. So, all the major fighting games are basically dead.

Probably won't hear about a SCVII until some time after Tekken 8 releases. I don't think it's dead though
