I think that just means DOA is finally dead for good (even if it's been the case for a long time).

I think that Venus Vacation project is more something akin to Sonic at Olympic Games for mobile, when its usually Sega do a crossover with Nintendo with Mario & Sonic at Olympic Games franchise (with Tokyo 2020 being the final Mario & Sonic Olympic Games).

Just because there is a standalone Venus Vacation game, doesn't mean Dead or Alive is going to dissociated "3D Dating Sim", which doesn't make sense consider thats a number 1 game on DMM Games, been going on for 6 years soon to be 7.

The right move is KT discontinue DOA6 support, kept DOAX only Japan & Asia, and gave players like Me what they want from DOAX3 & DOAXVV. Even better move is dissociate themselves from FGC Events (like eSports & EVO), abandon Western Market, and DOA Fighting Game be in line with DOAXVV in terms of sex appeal.

Fanservice was, is, and always will be part of DOA's DNA and what it is known for.
Over the last few years, it seems like TN tried to experiment with it but they had no clue about keeping enough from being too much.
They overdid it with both DOAX3 and Venus Vacation, but decided to pull off a 180 with DOA6 at first. Then, they made another 180 as they decided to embrace it again with its DLC. Hard to keep up.

Xtreme shall remain the fanservice spin-off, but this whole boss “owna-san” dating, gacha thing is not what it was meant to be from the start nor what Itagaki had in mind.
Now Venus Vacation is in a league of its own with its belonging characters, so them keeping both Dead or Alive plus Xtreme from it ought to be the right move.
They can milk it the way they wish without the slightest effort.

By this point TN should've had a clue with DOA5LR, DOAX3, & DOAXVV them being very profitable, and never had a mindset where they thought they were doing too much. TN should treat Fanservice the same way they treat their direction with their female characters when they first made Marie Rose which is what Japanese people are into that isn't just DOA.
