Dunno, but the shy approach DOAVV of how they promote their characters and other related games along with the way the DOA characters just talk to the players seem awkward or weird.
I guess TN, or at least DOA, is being left behind in terms of gorgeous character models and animations tho. And design. I already like Hailey more than any VV girl, sorry, lol. Body and style aside, she's still more interesting and I haven't even heard her speak a word.
The designs of Prism/VV usually put cuteness above sexy, and shy awkwardness is considered cute. If I want cute I'll watch my backyard squirrels.
Like holy, TFD is cooking. Game aesthetics are different but DOA might as well just go out and promote characters like that since that's the exact audience DOA was going for/should be going for.
For me, I feel like games (such as VV or Prism) reached a point where you might as well just do that. I suppose it's a cultural thing in Japan where promoting characters are a bit more reserved or to tease players, but I always found that incredibly weird and awkward sometimes lol.
Whereas TFD, they are legitimately being obvious and direct on what they are trying to do.
Completely different target audience mainly, this gooner shooter is obviously targeting people who are willing to spend anything on hot lady
Prism, is a dating sim visual novel. A rather tame one at that focusing on bond and stuff.
@UpSideDownGRUNT Wasn't DOAVV practically the same thing with "spend anything on a hot lady"? dunno. At times I feel it might just be unnecessarily reserved since DOA is practically been gooner baiting for a long time before social media was a thing. Especially DOA's modding scene for years.
The difference in audience comes from the appeal of the girls. First Descendant's character designs would be closer to the sexy & cool action women you'd find in a fighting game or western comic books, but the appeal of most girls in a game like Prism and most VV girls is the typical bishoujo, moe, and kawaii style of visual novels and harem anime. I guess badass women can be can't be "waifus".
