What it means if PRISM is met with success:

• TN gets away with digressing from DOA as well as making games with less and less content
• the original DOA characters are casually getting replaced gradually
• the end of the Xtreme series as we know it and the birth of a new series.

At this point, I don't know whether Venus Vacation or DOA6 was the worst thing to happen.

I mean to be fair, even if PRISM wasn't a thing it's actually not a guaranteed that a DOA7 will come to fruition due to support or even interest from KT.

DOA lacks a director & producer because they left (for genuine reasons), and making fighting games for sustainability is generally not easy to do because of the risks being taken. Hence why they make other things (action games and ironically even DOAVV/PRISM etc.)

Well, DOA male characters have a sword of Damocles hanging over their heads.
The more DOAXVV gets successful, the more they can plausibly get replaced or even swapped (just like Bankotsubo was with Nyotengu) by a cast of VV girls.

After DOA6 fiasco, this franchise should've been left untouched and Sakuda make his own in the meantime (departing from Itagaki's for good).
But now we're in a chaotic intertwined mess.

A good way for Prism to not succeed is via "less in-your-face fanservice", not having "direct sexual encounters", not having DLC like "Characters or Hyper Revealing Swimsuits", and Fanservice/Sex Appeal not 100% in line with DOAXVV. The Male character being replaced with Female character already happen before DOAXVV, its DOA5U that created the standard with Nyotengu which was her first appearance.

If TN/KT wanted to replace/swap Male characters, they already have the green light to do it with Nyotengu being part of DOAX3, Venus Vacation, & DOA6. If they were to get rid of someone, its mainly the select Male characters who don't have purposes outside of DOA3 (plus DOA2) which concluded their story like Leon, Gen-Fu, & Ein (plus Ein is Hayate).

For DOA girls if they were to get rid of someone, its going the ones who aren't popular with Japanese audience (the demographic that matters). I personally want to see Rachel along with Fiend Costume in its bare skin glory (from both NG2Plus Blue Outfit & DOA5U Halloween Costume), unfortunately for Me she isn't popular.
