your defense should comprise of sidestep, crouch block, fuzzy guard and standing guard. the defensive hold is to be used when you have a read on whats coming but not often due to the risk of giving her HCT damage.
There is no best approach when dealing with Rachel. There isn't even a good/decent one other than "never let her start an offense ever." She always has a plethora of good options from each situation where she has advantage and that pressure loops endlessly in a braindead way. If you don't see that as ridiculous, whatever. I'm not going to debate this anymore if for some reason that doesn't sound ridiculous to you.
and you know me. I don't attack from disadvantage. Ever. I play a character that does not permit that. I'm used to playing defensively, but playing defensively does not "limit her options" in any reasonable sense as it should.
Again im not saying this character is a fair fight. This character is above everybody else in this game imo and requires way too much reading to be done.
Maybe limit was the wrong word to use. I'm just saying it makes it so you have just a tad bit less to worry about after she uses stomp. Im not talking about reading her strings. In that situation its do or die.
"least success rate" most everything she can do, which is a lot, have a good/high chance of success with very, very minimal risk. But whatever. This is going in circles. Believe whatever you want, but giving this BS to other characters is going to make the situation worse, not better.
i dont think other characters need this. I just think the cast is weak in comparison to Rachel save for a few characters. As for the success rate thing look at it like this: if you are Rachel and make note of the fact that every time I'm at disadvantage I either step or crouch block would you use linear highs or lows?
IMO. The only character other than the VF characters that can give Rachel trouble is Christie. I'm not saying that because of her speed (ok at the same time I am) I'm saying it because Christie has pretty much the same tools. Evasive SS, Strings the go low, high mid. Strings that go into a grab etc etc. Rachel is somewhat like Christie just extra weight. But no one is crying about Christie so why cry about Rachel
But not like they do Rachel. To be honest, I think Christie is harder to deal with than Rachel. You can out space Rachel easily, but Christie doesn't space. But she she can play the spacing game just as good as anyone Else. Her jak 1kk has reach and she has great low sweeps. she has an evasive move that has reach. Yes a move that evades but has great reach. And her speed..... yea
and wait. that evasive reaching move also causes sitdown stun on NH. sure Rachels 8k has reach and causes sitdown stun on NH too, but its slow as hell and it doesn't evade.
