play as Ayane, she wins. The accepted story is that Ayane lost. In DOA2 Kasumi fights Ryu and wins if you play as her, but if you fight as Ryu, Kasumi loses.

There can never really be continuity, story wise, in fighting games.

It was something 5's story did right with not giving fights different outcomes depending on who you used.

The jumping back and forth in time sonewhat ticked me off though, seeing the same scene for the 3rd time and such.

Well, Canon-wise, Kasumi kills Raidou, so we can assume she never lost any of the fights before that. That, and if Kasumi lost to Ayane, she'd be dead. For the others, it's not as clear.

@PSM_Akali but you should know that kasumi only killed raidou with ryus help. Kasumi is nothing without ryu and I am wondering if she has noticed that <.<.

The one where Ryu wins all

If Ryu's in a fight, he wins it. If Ryu's not in a fight, he still wins it (such as in the case of Raidou and Omega, as seen in Dimensions).
So yeah. Basically Hayabusa wins everything.

It kinda sucks how Dimensions retconned the story so that Ryu upstages everyone's achievements. But it makes more sense with him being who he is.

....and then there's NGRE. lol

Is it just me or did they make Kasumi insanely good in Razor's Edge?

Yes, but I assume she was always that good. It'd be weird if only Ryu and Ayane and Momiji were super ninja.

wait, did you mean gameplay-wise? Then yes. At least to me. Her combos seem easy to pull off and make her decently mobile.

Ryu is "The SINGULAR Super Ninja" Ayane, Kasumi, Momiji etc. are not super ninjas. Just wannabes.
