God dammit sorry for the extreme lateness. I have been wanting to reply but kept forgetting. Anywho, I have seen a few of your Tengu vids from DOA4. I believed he was a fine character. You think they took him out because he was rarely used like Ein or Leon?

Lol. He was far from fine. Tengu was utter garbage in DOA4. They nerfed him so hard to the point where he was completely nonviable.

Believe it or not, I actually started maining him as a joke, but ended up finding the character to be so interesting and unique that I stuck with him. Winning with Tengu in DOA4 is nearly impossible. I'm just insanely loyal to the character.

No I meant fine by not fucking stupid and OP like Sarah and actually had to work to win. I never used him or even fought him much in DOA4 so I really can't be the one to judge. But if a character is as bad as you say he is and you still are loyal to him, you got a lot of respect from me for that reason alone.

I think he was cut due to the fact that no one likes him and because they had time constraints. They had a limited time to get things done and adding a character that they don't think anyone would play wasn't worth it to them. Not to mention that there's no money in DLC for him because no one will buy costumes for a character they hate and the new TN is all about nickel and diming everyone.

As for not including him in DOA5U, I think it was for money reasons again. They obviously had to bring back Ein and Leon. Adding NG crossovers in the form of Rachel and Momiji would get more attention. I have no idea why we needed Jacky though. His inclusion is just stupid.

And I appreciate that. Being a Tengu main sucks. I have no idea how Subway managed to do what he did, but he's easily one of my most respected DOA players because of it.

Yep. But we all wasn't positive that Ein was coming back. We had no fucking idea that Rachel and Jacky were coming. Everyone wanted Momiji and now she's a problem (I hate her too but I never even wanted her). They might as well squeeze Tengu in, plenty of people are asking for him. Even if no one plays him, if you show to tourneys as the only one

They will keep him and wen you bust people ass with him at tourneys everyone will start using hime that's what happened with Helena with Mamba and Ryu with Master.

I'd still join DOA4 or DOA2U tournies if any were to pop up around here. I'd more than likely lose the DOA4 tournies, but I'd still exclusively play Tengu in them.

The DOA2U tournies would just be deliciously evil.

Well, I'm not high level at all. I honestly wouldn't expect to become a well-known player for my skills. If I got any fame at all, it would be because I'm the only lunatic playing Tengu at these events, lol.

Umm. You don't need to be a high level player. Just be the only Tengu, that will get you known. Plus you will have a decent chance anyway because unfamiliarity against a character will mess people up. Like in Soul Calibur Tourny, Decopon owned everyone because they were unfamiliar with Tira. You can do that with Tengu.

That's usually how I won in DOA4, lol. Not many online players knew how to fight him. To be honest, all you have to do is hit buttons and he's fucked, but people were usually unsure about him and played overly defensively.

That's the exact same thing Decopon did in Soul Calibur. You can do the same in DOA. Hell, even with me and Lisa, I get a lot of stuff off because they don't know how to react to her. That reason alone can really put a match in your favor

Team Ninja explicitely talked of a "feature(s)" that no players would expect, so I don't think it could be a new character.

However, considering the success of DoA5U (thanks to many elements, from the new competitive mechanics, to the relationship with VF, to the return in the Arcade scene), I don't think that we should lose the hopes about Tengu: maybe TN could really plan to add new characters to the game.

Remember that the Arcade in Japan can be patched and updated exactly like the console version, more in the Random Filter after original Lorelei there will be again an empty place for a stage, something that I'm sure will be filled with a future big update.

Personally I'll continue to ask for Tengu to TN: until the developers will announce to stop their work on the game, for me there are not so little hopes about the return of the bird man!

Thanks. I'll always appreciate the support for returning my main character to the game. I just don't personally see it happening for DOA5. Maybe DOA6 though.

And I really, really hope that we don't get a VF x DOA because Tengu doesn't stand a chance in hell at making that roster.

I will do what I can in the limits of my possibilities, but remember that it's needed the support of everyone interested: also if pretty hard, I consider the return of Tengu in DoA5U far from being impossible

About VFxDoa, that will be the fate of many characters (also female ones): surely Tengu has prety low chances to be included, but the same will happen for example for my 2nd main Ein (TN couldn't ever leave out Hitomi, nor include 2 karateka). This happen always with the crossover and it's not a problem for me: what I really care is the possibility to have a complete cast in the main titles of the series.
