You're either going to travel or you're not. That's up to you. But none of the majors I travel to are in my area either. Hopping on a plane is part of the deal for most of us.
Ignore the ignorance, Aero. If a player can produce an offline scene and keep flowing (like I have), kudos to us. If you don't have access, don't treat it as you not being anything. Just enjoy the game.
In addition, "some" are ignorant, while others just actually do want more players to at least put in effort into forming something offline. If it's a possibility, players should definitely see it through. If it's not a possibility, then it just wasn't meant to be.
Also some are just discontent with how the game plays online. If you study the game it can make for a frustrating experience because you see all sorts of nonsense happen that doesn't occur in an offline enviornment.
This is why some players dislike how some people that only play the game online brag about their victories and skills when there are so many x-factors that come into play online that it shouldn't be considered an completely accurate way to judge skill.
OTL. If only I had the funds to travel by plane to offline events. I'll ignore the ignorance. I'll ignore it all. B| I wish I could produce an offline scene, but I wouldn't even know where to begin u.u.
I try to enjoy the game to the fullest but then there are people that just make it so "ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" sometimes. I don't like to brag about my online victories and/or skills since I know there are dozens of people who can crush me & I still have lots to learn.
I spread love for the game my own way. I have a friend who lives in Moscow, who loves DOA. I created a US PSN account for him to use and bought him DOA5U.
Just ignore the people that hate on online players (not going to name names). If the only way to enjoy DOA is to play online, then enjoy online play! If you have any opportunity to create an offline scene: a) Try to reach out to people in your area b) Try to find ANY FG scene (Marvel & SF dominate my scene) c) Seek out comic/hobby shops
Claiming about people playing online is like saying: "I'm good at this game because I play in offline."
Either way, it sounds just stupid and has exactly no truth content. Therefore, everyone who has a problem with that should just keep his foolishness to himself.
