You can get the same effect by having the action and reaction set to high holds and just knock it over with mids, hitting the throw button as it goes over the top. The timing of the throw button happens close to when they hit the ground, so just mash it as you jump over to make sure you get it.
This is definitely a thing, and it is universal. I'm watching Requiem go through the cast to see what throw each character can use off of the barrier. Seems to range from i7 to i12 throws. This also pisses me off because Alpha has her 50% throw off this.
Going over everyone's throws and their data. Speeds are random enough (30 frames-41 frames, without obvious rhyme), as are the type of throw and the damage. (Pai has it worst at 60 damage, her 4T. Leon gets his whole combo throw for 130-something damage. Alpha gets her fireball throw for 149!)
IKR? It turns out more characters than I thought only net the 60, which I think he's slightly better than but it's certainly no Alpha, Leon, Ayane, Rachel...
Alpha's is obviously the most ridiculous (because, surprise, it's always the most ridiculous!), but this is in general a very strange mechanic. When I get back in the game, I wanna play with these myself.
Yeah, it's worth looking at. I'm not totally sure how helpful they are (it seems you might be at significant negative if someone instantly low holds the barrier?), but they're at least an amusing curiosity.
Hm I just tried it before school so I didn't have a lot of time. I'll try again when I get on, probably did it wrong. Rachels 4T is her best throw in raw damage so that's not bad at all. Anyways, nice find.
I didn't know that you could do that until now but since I have no access to 5U, I tried it on Dimensions at the right edge corner of Lorelei with the wall and it works! (Thanks SilverForte for that information)
I wonder what Bryant siblings got though. Would someone check it for me?
