So I really just need some basic tips for now. He does know shes a spacing character, he noticed right when he tried her. He is putting her twirls to use and he learned most of her frame data I believe.
I honestly just think he needs to just know what moves to do in which situation. Stuff like say. I told him not to throw out 236k or 66pk lol. I told him to try out Rachel 1st though because I think he should learn the game 1st with Rachel then move to Ayane.
He can still learn the basics while he is learning Ayane. Just trying to implement everything all at once would be a hassle. You should tell your friend to just pace himself and take things step by step. Basic Ayane play will get him through for awhile as he learns the game. Once he feels more comfortable, he can then start learning to implement more strategy into his play.
He does her twirls pretty good I think. He also throws a bit much though if he sees you blocking a bunch. He knows a few combos that are actually decent too.
Yea Hajin, I will find 1. I saved some the other night so ima dig through my replays
With Ayane you definitely need to pace your self like iHajin said. Babysteps I say. Focus on one aspect of her everytime you spar with her. Poking, movement, whiff punishment, combos, juggles, spacing, footsies, etc.
If he does her twirls well then that's a start. I will also warn that the Twirls are just "flash" if they're not spaced properly, and can become a huge liability for CH's.
K. Im uploading one now. I think this when he started getting use to her roll and twirl. He still isnt used to throw punishing though. He is learning about CH launches and combos now.
Btw, his SSing is so beautiful T-T lol. Link coming in a sec.
For a fairly new Ayane player, he's actually not that bad. Yes, he was making use of way too many overly risky moves (Tip: 4H+K is actually a terrible move and is not a poke. It's only used for ranged whiff punishment mostly and not from neutral). Lol, at using 236K from R1F and hitting you =P. BT 8K or any variation of the move is actually not throw punishable on block. It's -4.
Based on how he was playing, I would advise him to adopt a bit of a poking style of play. At R1F use: PP, 2P, 6P, or 6K when in close. If the opponent is backing up away, you can try 3P, or 3KK. The main thing I got from the vid is that the player needs to learn about Ayane's safety and poking ability. As for juggles, he can learn all the fancy shit later.
