You have to admit she still has mad stupid shit that you have to deal with, like critical burst potential for weeks and some of the best throws in the game.

She's not vanilla stupid but still. Let's just not talk about vanilla Alpha.

She is free when you knock her down.

Only, you're also free when she knocks you down.

And her stun game is a better than your stun game. And her throw game is better than your throw game.

It's not just the balance you have to worry about, it's the level of stupid she degrades the game to.

So you mean the non damaging parries or the move that can still get stuffed and lose to offensive holds??

Also her throws leave her at a really bad disadvantage if i'm correct if you whiff a b.u.r.s.t you're at -24, r.u.s.h is extremely telegraphed which are her good throws

also, she's not alpha is free to the characters i use

Parries are at their most useful when you are backed into a corner, and her parries knock into environment. They are incredibly good in that respect. Look to Bayman if you want parries are minimalist.

It doesn't matter what throw you whiff, if you whiff a throw you're going to be put into stun game hell.

once Alpha stuns you, you can't afford not to hold because her damage potential is insane. And yet at the same time, you can't afford to hold because BURST is insane and you're more likely to guess wrong on which CB she is going to use anyhow.

There is no good answer to that situation once it occurs.

she's a glass cannon so it's fair

I'm not saying it isn't. I'm just saying it's a dumb situation and most people don't bitch about her cause she's unfair. They bitch about her because she makes the fight dumb.

A lot of characters make the fight dumb, a good portion of the cast has very stupid things

jann lee's dragon gunner makes the fight really stupid
so does bass's "pick up" which is infact stupid
so people really need to just stop whining and deal with it

Bass kinda needs his Pick-up and Jann Lee kinda needs his Dragon gunner. Does ALPHA really need all the OH's she has including a 70+ dmg one that flies across the ground?

I remember fighting her level 8 AI in the lab for shits and giggles and she crushed Kasumi's 6P with BURST which I figured "whatever that's technically a mid but very crushable" then she did the same thing to Leifang's 66K which itself is a high crush

the ai cheats, that's all i can tell you

Jann Lee absolutely does NOT need his dragon gunner. Not in this form. In no other DOA game did his dragon gunner guarantee a stun situation like that.

His damage potential, movement, and ranged pokes were already top tier in the game. He doesn't -need- the easiest gateway into the stun game on top of that.

Anyhow, the game is what it is. Some characters have stupid stuff and excel, some don't.

And some characters, like Alpha, fuck themselves as much as they fuck the opponent making the entire match about as pleasurable as eating glass. Life sucks.
