If they even give her a shot, TN has already succeeded in making a better character. But she has Tengu's move set. People won't stay with her.

I'm going to clear her combo challenge day one. Can't wait.

It does if that said character gets popularity. If people like her, TN likes her. She'll get balance changes and possibly story that Tengu deserved all these years. People are actually gonna give her the time of day. Something old Tengu never got from the fanbase. However long that lasts anyway.

Popularity doesn't necessarily make you a better character, either.

No, but if she's popular it means TN will care about her. From the trailers, it looks like TN is willing to make her strong. It's too early to tell for sure, though. Itagaki sure as hell didn't care about old Tengu. They're at least trying with the new one.

If by "strong" you mean "balanced," TN has no idea what that word even means, let alone how to achieve it.

But Ayane has always been popular. Tengu never was. And she's never been weak. How many people didn't even try to learn Tengu simply because of the way he looked. Look how much hype she's gotten. That's more than Tengu has ever received. All in a single day.

I don't think the hype really matters. Everyone always gets hyped when TN shows a new character.

Well, I don't know how strong you can make Tengu's move set. But it at least looks better than Itagaki who decides someone should be strong or weak based on who he likes or dislikes.

Tweak frame properties enough and you can make any moveset godly.

And yeah, it's not hard to make Tengu good. I had already been working on a write up to fix him, which Brute here was even satisfied with. It will never see the light of day now though.

True, which is why I think this Tengu could be better. Getting people to notice your character means more people will give that character a chance. That opens more chances for fellow Tengu players to learn from each other. That's if everyone doesn't just drop her. We're at least gonna see way more than DOA2U and 4. Maybe TN will care enough to make her viable.
